Oh no been shopping!
....and came home with a Alpine sub/amp and a pair of infinity speakers with rings!
So another day consumed inside the car! Spent Sunday removing the stereo, gear surround and centre console and moving the carpets to run the cable to the rear of the car as I've located the sub on the underside of the n/s rear seat,an idea I got off this site,so it's all out of site! Took the door cards off and theres evidence they have been off before but worry not all the membrane's intack. Then the surprise , I couldn't believe the quality(for the want of a better word) of the OE speakers, talk about cheap tac! Anyway ripped them out and added Dynamat to both doors(another idea from here again) and the new speakers. Well it's transformed the stereo, a lot clearer and loads more bass but the other thing I noticed is the doors sound a lot more solid when opened from the outside and when there closed which I guess is down to the Dynamat. Just got the rear speakers to do now and some more Dynamat! |

Sounds good! Read about the Dynamat stuff myself, but I dont trust my DIY skills....
The sound quality from standard stereo / speakers is a bit poor for sure. Just been riding in the back of mine (uncharacteristically let my brother drive!) and I could hardly hear the rear speakers at all. Really needs a further pair behind rear passengers. |

Dynamat
Hi Deno , Yeah I'm really pleased with the Dynamat not just for the stereo but the sound of the doors, the thing I noticed the most is when you operate the front outer handles the noise echo's around the door sounding really cheap, what a difference as it now sounds more "solid"!
