A slightly out-there request, but I'm sure it's do-able.
Right, so the Sat Nav runs on a stripped down version of Windows CE. Someone has already written a piece of software to flash the firmware of the SatNav and replace the startup image.
What is to stop someone using the same piece of software to load up a previous version of WMP to play mp3s stored on the DVD (EXAMPLE) and use the output (display/ audio) of the HU. Obviously to map the input of the steering wheel controls and sat nav control knob would be challenging, but surely it's possible in theory? That way you put 4.7GB of mp3s + WMP on a DVD, stick it in the DVD drive and reboot the Sat Nav. It boots up from the DVD and loads WMP. Though you'd have WMP but no sat nav, if you want that just eject the DVD and re-boot! |
