Tape deck - Civic or Accord?

Hi Guys,

I'm sure I read somewhere the Civic and the accord had an avaliable seperate tape deck (-Deck only-) and am thinking of fitting one as I can't stand not having one anymore (I wnat to try and get it fitted in the little box underneath).

Anyone any suggestions???

Will this one work??? - Honda Cassette Player (Accord, Civic, Odyssey, Pilot) - Bernardi Parts

Also do you think honda will do it so I can keep my warranty safe????

Tom

I have seen a tape deck as an option at some point.

I presume it connects to where you have the CD changer connected.
I doubt you can have both.

You would probably be the only one to have the tape deck if you can actually get it.

EDIT - try part number 08A03-5E6-001 for about £200. Not sure exactly what other parts you need or what it is compatible with or not.

I was thinking I could link in to the loom that runs to the CD and just use the extension option. I really like my casettes (especially Biggles!), but maybe it's just a pipe dream.

However I like the idea of having a 100% unique car

Tom,

I have to ask - why?? Tapes???!! Do you have a large collection of "Learn a Language" tapes on BASF or maybe a complete box set of Paul McKenna keeps you relaxed" on Maxell!

Record your tapes onto a computer, convert to MP3 format and playback using the CD player, easier and much cheaper than purchasing and fitting a tape deck.

No I have every tape of the goons, every Biggles on tape (including the early WW1 stories), I have a few I.A.H.H.M. and nearly every Terry Pratchett (along with 200+ other tapes), you can guess I like to listen to them. I don't see why a deck should not come as standard.

Honda, hmmm how long would doing that two 200+ tapes???

polderbits is a good software for converting tapes to CD.
They offer you a FULL version download for a 14 day trial and if you havn't finished by then and log on again using the same e mail address, - up pops a little message stating that you can have another 14 days. My kind of Software Company.

You are the only person I know of who uses tapes still. I'd say, at a wild guess less that 1 person in a hundred would ever use a tape deck in their car, and maybe 1 in 500 or 1000 rugalarly. Why on earth would any manufacturer install these in cars new cars now?
I agree about ripping them to MP3. That way they are usable on modern technology and won't detariorate/snap like tapes do. Or so I've heard.

I'm a few years older than you Tom, but I have converted all of my tapes, using the free software, I have mentioned above.
I can get 7 Goon Shows on one CD.

I just want the Goons without the interruptions

Don't ask Eccles for the time when setting your clocks

Quote:
Bluebottle: What time is it Eccles?

Eccles: Err, just a minute. I, I've got it written down 'ere on a piece of paper. A nice man wrote the time down for me this morning.

Bluebottle: Ooooh, then why do you carry it around with you Eccles?

Eccles: Well, umm, if a anybody asks me the ti-ime, I ca-can show it to dem.

Bluebottle: Wait a minute Eccles, my good man...

Eccles: What is it fellow?

Bluebottle: It's writted on this bit of paper, what is eight o'clock, is writted.

Eccles: I know that my good fellow. That's right, um, when I asked the fella to write it down, it was eight o'clock.

Bluebottle: Well then. Supposing when somebody asks you the time, it isn't eight o'clock?

Eccles: Ah, den I don't show it to dem.

Bluebottle: Ooohhh...

Eccles[Smacks lips]: Yeah.

Bluebottle: Well how do you know when it's eight o'clock?

Eccles: I've got it written down on a piece of paper!

Bluebottle: Oh, I wish I could afford a piece of paper with the time written on.

Eccles: Oohhhh.

Bluebottle: 'Ere Eccles?

Eccles: Yah.

Bluebottle: Let me hold that piece of paper to my ear would you? - 'Ere. This piece of paper ain't goin'.

Eccles: What? I've been sold a forgery!

Bluebottle: No wonder it stopped at eight o'clock.

Eccles: Oh dear.

Bluebottle: You should get one of them tings my grandad's got.

Eccles: Oooohhh?

Bluebottle: His firm give it to him when he retired.

Eccles: Oooohhh.

Bluebottle: It's one of dem tings what it is that wakes you up at eight o'clock, boils the kettil, and pours a cuppa tea.

Eccles: Ohhh yeah! What's it called? Um.

Bluebottle: My granma.

Eccles: Ohh... Ohh, ah wait a minute. How does she know when it's eight o'clock?

Bluebottle: She's got it written down on a piece of paper!
