Dodgy speaker on new car

I'll probably end up taking this one to the dealer, but I've just realised my front right speaker is not working right on the new arrival. It thougt it was just radio reception but it's the same with a CD - basically the right speaker sounds 'fuzzy' - bit like if you dented the cone or the speaker cables were just about touching but not making a good connection with the terminal on the speaker.

Any way I can easily check the wiring? Or straight to dealer and don't touch it...

I'd go with your opening comment and get it back to the dealer, don't give them any excuse to blame you if there is any damage! Good luck zippy.

Chances are it's not the wiring. So I'd take it to the dealer without too much poking around.

Hey ZippyBungle,

I have the same problem, mine happens at about volume 20 (at motorway speeds) and around volume 32ish (at standstill or very slow speeds). Did you upgrade to the Concert Pack?

Mine has been booked in for the 23rd. Will let you know the outcome soon... WTS

No, just standard setup. It's only noticeable on quiet tracks with bass, so am trying to find the right CD to show the dealer - bit of Damien Rice or Courtney Pine seems to work nicely (or not so nicely). Annoyingly, speech is quite badly affected too, especially when you combine the less-than-perfect radio reception.

I'll keep you posted if they find anything.

Could be a knackered speaker.

I've just realised I have a knackered rear speaker in my new car. It's going back.
