Your dealer is correct, it was a premium brand. Unfortunately, it appears to be so no longer.

£335 is to much drop your prices honda if another maker and 3rd partys do it for half the price so should honda be able to.

now there is an if in there but I don't think the Changer has changed for this model, sure that a dealer parts department can confirm if its the same changer?.

A note of caution.
The Dension web site indicates that the B model is also suitable for the Accord. The ice>link that I had in my Accord did not, according to my dealer who tried to fit it to the head unit, work with the Civic head unit.
However, the code number for the ice>link plus on the web site is 1LPRHB1CR1 and the only serial numbers that I have on my ice>link are 0203073 & 422300199. It is noted as V3.10 so that might be a clue if the ice>link has been upgraded in the past 18 months since I purchased mine.

Bearing in mind that the FR-V is even getting a link now as standard (I just took a look at the John Pease website) it seems remarkable that Honda would ask this much.

£125-150 with fitting is about right. And at that price (although it's still quite alot) most people would jump for it. Like Basegreen said, should have been standard from the outset anyway
Hi guys..... an ice installation and seller called Bass Junkies, have got a Harmon Kardon system that will work well in the civic, the ipod gets put in the glovebox...or anywhere you like infact, and the unit has a stand alone blue back lit screen, and a blue high lighted independant joy stick that can be mounted where you fancy, it is also detatchable for security, looks really cool, being lit in blue.......the cost installed isn`t the cheapest but its well smart...£220 fitted, last time i asked. hope this is of some use to you. I think this has been covered further up the thread (or maybe another thread, I can't quite remember!) - Anyway.......I looked into the Harman Kardon Drive & Play system about 3 months ago.....it appealed to me because I thought the blue on it's readout screen would match nicely to the clocks in the Civic, and secondly, it's 'scroll-wheel' reminded me very much of BMW's iDrive system.....So I looked into it further, reading reviews on US websites etc....

The up shot is that the link up with our HU's will be a problem.......HK would like you to hard wire it to the HU in your car by simply plugging an adapter into the aerial in port on the back of the HU (which as far as I know, ours don't seem to have).......alternatively, HK will also sell you (US market only though) a Wireless adapter, which is basically a FM transmittor, turning your lovely, but expensive HK kit into a fancy iTrip, with all the siganl problems that go with those no doubt - not worth it at all!

Hi mate, try the recent Harman Kardon, ipod system, looks damd cool with the blue screen an all, most good ice dealers will stock and fit this unit, for nominal fee, but even with the fitting it comes in at around £220 or there about. worth a look, and you can put your zen or ipod in the glove box, as it has all the control and information you need in/on the system.

i went to the dealer today, and they said they can either fit it to be controlled via the wheel etc but the tracks have no name or to be controlled by the ipod and volume by the wheel.

so it isnt the best integration, especially for the price, but ill probably get it.

Hi guys -

UPDATE!!!

I was sent the correct cable, which fits into the head unit CD Changer slot. However be warned that the standard ICELINK>PLUS PCB will make the stereo do weird things when connected. Ie there is no sound at all from any source.

I have spoken to dension and i was sent the old kit, there is a new one which is being sent to me as we speak.

Worked out how to remove the stereo unit from the dash, so will post a guide for that too.

If it works i will post details of where i bought it and how much!

I think you will find that they will say "thank for your interest" and then walk on to the next customer.

They don't have to sell you one, if your not prepared to pay full amount I'm sure they wont mind not selling as loosing that much money on the sale is hardly an incentive for them to bargin is it? And why should they bargin anyway? Its not the dealer who set the price, its honda, why should the dealer take the hit on the cost?

It is a good idea though, I'm going to pop down my local dealer and ask them to sell me a set of 18" alloys for 50% off, and if they dont agree then hell, I'm not going to buy... see how they like them apples
