The Icelink>Plus cable seems to be exactly the same as the Connects2 cable (vhox001) I ordered

tucker101uk: Do you have any picture of the actual cable that connects to the HU? The sideview of the cable is exactly the same as the Connects2 cable (vhox001), by looking at your picture.

So I am positive that it will fit the Civic and will be useable for us without the Ipod and not the EX model of the Civic

As soon as I get my Civic (still hoping to get it before January), I will tell you if it works...

Sorry if you didn't understand me.

I was just asking it the cable that you connected to the HU is the same type as the Connects2 one?

You have a picture of the cable here:

http://www.connects2.com/c2search.as...=210&modID=777

You can zoom in the picture by clicking on it...

Pottsy has the same cable but he needed to order an extra cable from Honda, because he has the EX Civic, so I just wondered if the extra cable is not needed on non EX models.

That looks to be the same connections - although the dension cable is wrapped in one sheath.

Cant be sure about the EX model - all you need is the capacity to plug in a CD Changer...

The Icelink>Plus emulates a CD Changer, therefore if there is a cable from Honda which is required to attach the CD Changer then you will need that cable to attach the dension.

The icelink is designed for iPods...

Bad news if you have a "generic" mp3 player!!

I had the dealer instal the CD-changer cable (without the CD-changer).
So can I just plug that cable into the Icelink>plus?
that would be great

I guess the answer to that would be Yes...

The cable plugs into the CD Changer slot - and acts like a CD Changer.

So if you have the capacity to plug in a CD Changer, then you can plug in the icelink.

Hi,

Not sure if this has been mentioned or not but I looked at the Honda website today and looked at the new 3 door civic. On the Interior section they had a bit on ipod connection and it says that the new 3 door civic is included in the car!!!!

So how much would it cost to install the connection to an EX model?

No its not included in the price of the 3 door civic. If you read further its an optional extra. Its listed as £220 optional extra.

They will do though. As alot of people will just choose the easy option and have it all done and fitted for them ready for when they pick the car up.

The bad thing is the official Honda one is apparently very poor going by Basegreens review(who has actually used it).

Poor for the money - poor compared to the functionality you'd expect but for free, it's a no brainer.
