It's a few wires, and an hour of labour. This should be standard as it is. Absolute joke. |

I'm disillusioned with the "Honda Experience". This i-pod business is the final straw.
I'm seriously considering trading my Civic soon. Honda doesn't seem to care a toss about keeping their customers happy. ![]() |

It's rather like when you stay in a five-star hotel and delve into the minibar to discover that a water, bottle of beer or a packet of peanuts costs some extraordinary amount. So, unless you've got more money than sense, the minibar remains firmly off limits. I fear the same applies in this case to Honda's i-Pod link.
Bearing in mind that the FR-V is even getting a link now as standard (I just took a look at the John Pease website) it seems remarkable that Honda would ask this much. £125-150 with fitting is about right. And at that price (although it's still quite alot) most people would jump for it. Like Basegreen said, should have been standard from the outset anyway |

I do have a reply from Denison to my home email claiming the thier ICE Link works with the '06 Civic headunit and it will alow steering wheel control.
Think that is cheaper than the £225 Honda are asking for thier unit. |

Yes though, an absolute absurd joke! I don't think I'd have gone for it anyway as I'm expecting a dension or similar solution soon; I'd imagine at half the price! |

Mikel, I did mention people with more money than sense above
Then again, a base 5 series starts at nearly £26k (rising to about £64k). So I guess if you're spending that sort of money (and with the price of most BMW options anyway), it's unlikely to cause too much of a stir. On the other hand the Civic range tops out at £18.5k. And, for a new car that's designed to be stylistically head and shoulders above every other c-segment vehicle, it made no sense at all to release it without an aux input or i-Pod link (especially when even the Honda Jazz has had an aux in for several years). As an aside, did the John Pease price include a discount for site users? |

Why should this be a surprise? The reversing sensors on a £28K Subaru Impreza cost £144 fitted, on a £28K Saab £210 fitted and on a £15K Honda, £370 + fitting...
Subaru Impreza dog guard = £74 Saab 9-5 Estate = £99 Honda Accord Tourer = £199 Honda Civic = £175 Still like the Hondas however; money savers in other directions... |

So have we had it confirmed if this is a full functioning connection?
For that money, the very least I would expect would be to have full details of the track displyed on the headunit, and full controll from the steering wheel as well. If they are asking this money for a basic 'line-in' connection - then they really should be ashamed |

£225 is bordering on the ridiculous. Putting aside the fact that this should have been standard on a 2006 model car, there's potential high demand for such an item, and that should have demanded a modest price.
Honda do seem to charge a lot for "extras" and their fitting. It's almost as if they don't want our business. |
