Depends on what you're after really. If you want to rip your door panels off and put speakers in yourself, then go with the infinities. I would personally recommend just getting the front coaxials if you really dont want to go down the path of fitting yourself.

I'm getting the co-axials fitted in the front FOC by Chiswick Honda, how do they sound with the original tweeters will still be connected (well I assume the will be?)

Not great at all IMO. I had the co-axials in the front and standards in the back and have rearranged the setup to have the co-axials in the back and infinitys in the front. SO much better.

Well I don't know what speakers are in the car (I'm guessing standard ones) - or even if anything has been "upgraded" but when I play a lot of cd's I make (I do my own mp3 collections) they sound pretty decent if I turn down the treble to about 2 or 3.

I have used a bass test cd and I get the best response from about 40-45hz upwards for "boom" - lower than that, they just flabber around!

I'm guessing that the bassworks (or RIP OFF) system is adjustable, seeing as how there's some knobs to twidde... too much GAIN will result in an overloaded, unbalanced sound, even at low volumes... you can tweak this to get the best balance (actually, tweak it when at a volume you'd consider loud, then get the gain tweaked till you like it.. then at lower volumes it should be ok...?)

HIGH GAIN - this is where you control what portion of the signal would be cropped to be sent to the bass bins... I guess its nothing more than a glorified TONE knob... I think if you turn it up, you get more muffled sound....?

Perhaps the techies are good at installing stuff, but what would THEY know about proper audio eh? I suggest taking it to a tame audionics expert for a twiddle if possible!

I had this in my Nissan Maxima, which had "Active Speakers" - there was no amp in the head unit, there was one in each speaker, but the sub was kicking out too much oomph... so I tweaked it, and it was superb!

40 quid for the rings? Screw that. I'll PAINT mine in... much cheaper.... :P

biggest problem with twiddling with the bassworks amp is getting at the blinking thing - it's tucked away behind the dash...

It's on my list of 'jobs to do on the weekend whe it's sunny and neither wife nor daughter expect me to play taxi...'

Well, that's farked it then...

Typical. So they put an ADJUSTABLE AMP in a place where you can't.

So very forward thinking Honda.

I'll stick with what I have - its not the best, but its not that bad either... The system in the Accord just got rid of was loads better but nothing will touch the BOSE system I had in the old Omega (nice car, even for a vaux.. no I won't swear here)
