Exclamation Calling all civic with satnav owners!!!!!

Hi all,

I have spoken with a mate of mine that has an In-Car electronics business Welcome to In-Car Advancements.

He has been in contact with a company called Nav TV regarding a PROPER IPOD connection that will be displayed on the satnav screen with all the track titles, album names etc!

Nav TV havent developed a system yet as they need a car! I have been told they normally take around 48hours with the car and if anyone could give up their car for a few days then we could have ourselves a proper IPOD system to work with our cars!!

They are based in Cardiff (CF3 2PU) their website is Home | NAV TV - Leader in OEM Video Integration

If anyone is interested please let me know and I will arrange it to be sorted out!! If I wasnt over 3.5hours away and work 6days a week i would be down there myself! The person who lends a car may even get a free system out of it.

So, any volunteers

I'll do it - I have blocks of 4 days off at a time (6 on, 4 off) and also have a ton of RDIL's left, so a nice long weekend to Wales would be cool by me.

What do you need to know from me to sort this??

Mate, I'm happy to do this asap to be fair!! I don't need a second invite to actually DO something with my rest days!!!

I'm one of those VERY rare (it seems) people (read : mad) who actually hates their days off, because I get sooooo bored!!!!

Now this sounds like something I'd be really interested in! I live quite near Cardiff but couldn't give up my car for a few days, unfortunately, thanks from pretty much all of us to those who are prepared to do it though. Do they have any idea how much the system would cost when (if) it's available? Any details on what we can expect fitting to involve?

Hi All,

Thanks to those that have volunteered! I will PM Mark tomorrow eveing with the details. I will also let them know we have more willing volunteers if needed

As for prices im sure they will be competitive to what is already available today. Also from what i beleive of the company they normally provide the solution in a single box of tricks that plugs inline between the H/U and IPOD.

Fitting wise the H/U will need to be removed but im afraid i cant say anymore than that

As soon as we receive any updates i will be posting it here first!! Thanks again to the willing volunteers!

Only bad news I'm afraid folks....

They are planning on developing is a dock which would incorporate an RF out put to display 'a picture' on the sat navs screen. They would then be looking to address the audio with an FM modulator.....

I find this quite frustrating as we all know that Fm transmitters are not exactly perfect in the civic are they..?!?

I aired my disappointment to them when I spoke to them and they said that they would discuss my/our fears and needs, and get back to me....

Fingers crossed for now then that they sort something a bit more 'Hard Wired' and usable....
