Honda Dice iPod connection

Just ordered my dice iPod connection kit off eBay, £90 quid with a fiver delivery. Not too bad compaired to the genuine one!! So looking forwards to pulling my car apart to fit it now! Has anyone managed to wire one into the arm rest yet? Thinking either there or the cup holders. any suggestions? Or pics of yours fitted...

I can't offer you any practical advise but could I suggest you have a look at an 09 model with the built in USB. Although it doesn't offer an iPod dock connector you could wire one through this and with a few parts also get a power socket and aux-in too.

Fitting an AUX-in without removing the radio

Don't get too carried away pulling the car apart. Once you've removed the two parts of the console and the trim under the steering column (as described in the various posts here) stop. Don't remove the upper trim by the clock or the radio itself.

Put your head in the passenger footwell and look up with a good torch, and you can see the back of the radio. You can even see the edge of the white socket where the aux-in cable goes. You may need to push the cable loom aside to get a good view, but there's plenty of room for both hands up there. Simply plug the aux-in cable into the socket (the release tab goes on top) and you're done with the hard bit.

I know it works this way, because last Sunday I did 2 Civics with a friend. It reduces the work and avoids damaging the visible trim on the dashboard.

I cabled mine into the space under the stereo. Not sure if the cables are long enough for the centre console...

I'm gonna pop over to Honda today and see If they have an 09 to look at, will be a shame if the wiring isn't quite long enough. My second option was in the cup holders just because my iPhone slots in there nicely without too much movement. Does it not get thrown about abit in the compartment under the radio robbieee?

I have a matt in the compartment so it doesn't slide about. Although most of the time I have it sitting in the centre foley compartment...

Denison ICE

Done this before and easy peasy, fed the cable down past the gear stick and left the box there, drilled hole in the centrerest compartment and works perfect.

See here: Links to some guides
