Parrot Mki9200 :)
Just got Parrot Hands Free Kit installed by connectmy car.com (sub branch of Carphone Warehouse) and I must say I am really really happy with result. The hands free kit is really good; loud and clear. But the real bonus is the mp3 connections. Not only do u get ipod connectivity but usb and other types of connections and it plays through the car speakers (none of the radio frequency rubbish). Overall, the system has been designed really well and really easy to use.
Installation is top draw. The guy came to my house and the completed the job in just less than an hour (nice guy too So if you want a hands free kit or even just ipod connection, this is a must buy. But, word of warning, I went to a Carphone Warehouse store and the guy said it would cost £270 excluding the SOT leads (which u definitely need). So I went online to connectmycar.com and the price was £220 including all leads, installation etc (weird since they are owned by CW) Overall 10/10 |

I don't want dampen your joy, but the i9200 is not without it's problems, even the guy that fitted mine said this.
I have had a couple myself,,,the most annoying one has been that the unit just freezes when you are driving along and nothing you can do about it, you have to turn off the ignition to reset it,, I went on to the parrot forum and it seems listening to others this is a problem. Also if you intend to use the SD card that is built into the unit for playing music this is not without it's problems. But I will agree with you that the handsfree speech is A1. |

Mine is ordered and set for installation on Wednesday after collecting my 56 plate Civic today - love the car, and hopefully will love the parrot just as much!

Nice job - looking at getting one myself.
Just to let anyone know who's looking at getting one, just been down to Halfords (today) and they have the whole thing for £220 too including additional leads and fitting. The only thing was, the guys there hadn't done one before in a Civic, so may give it a go myself just for the crack! If I do, I'll post up some pics of the process. |

i am also looking to get one of these also as i feel it would be better than the aux socket i have in my 09 reg civic, I take it these also charge your ipod etc and control the ipod via the standard radio or the parrot itself? Also feel the bluetooth part of it would be advantagous because of my disability and the use of having only my left hand to use properly
How much extra for the box that would allow the steering wheel controls to work with it? the one concern i have is fitting and then taking out and refitting again I say this because my civic is a motability car and on a 3 year lease so it will go back in august 2012 and therefore obviously i need to remove it again and take ity with me to next car I know i could get halfords or carphone warehouse to fit it but removal and refit is the concern or do i look at other options for me to get better ipod connectivity. I have thought about this, the honda ipod adaper, the dice and the dension anyone have any thoughts for me and the best option |
