Rear speaker upgrade??....
Ok....I've done the interior blue lighting upgrade, and the front speaker upgrade(Infinity 6510cs...thanks potsy!), applied the auto-door-lock and unlock.....next on my list is the Rear speakers.
I was just wondering if anyone has boldly gone before me? These projects are so much easier when youhave a few pictures and a recomendation on what kit to use. Failing that, does anyone know what size the rear speakers are and could that recomend a suitable replacement? Thanks Guys! |

Yeah, Same speakers as pottsy but I splashed out on the speaker rings too just to dress them up a bit ( an amazing rip of at €54 for two plastic rings!!) and I fitted the tweeters slightly differently to continue the silver and black theme. I'll get a couple of pics up tomorrow.

The Speakers that me and Pottsy used were the Infinity Reference 6510cs With Astra speaker mounts. THe links are listed on Pottsy's post about the front speaker upgrade. They cost about £100 for the set and another £10 for the Astra speaker mounts. The kit comes with a whole bunch of different adapters for the tweeters. The one I went for uses three different parts...a silver dish that the tweeter sits in, a cylindrical black collar that fits (with a small amount of filing) into the existing facade on the dash and a colar that screws onto the back to hold the unit in place. The tweeters can then be pointed to achieve the best acoustics. The other thing is that I still have all the existing parts so if I ever need to I can go back to the factory fit.
The silver rings on the woofers are the honda parts...ridiculously expensive for what they are but I'm still glad I went for them. It just goes so well with the whole "theme" in the car. Rear speakers next I think....they're really drowned out by the front speakers now. |

I would suggest these to compliment the fronts that you have chosen. http://infinitysystems.com/caraudio/product.aspx?ProdId='REF6012I'&Ser=REF&Cat=MEL - You are not going to get masses of bass from a 6.5 inch speaker in the rear, but this should be better than the stock. If you want low end, then a Compact sub may be the best solution, running from the speaker wires. To keep the inifinty them going, one of these may even fit under the floor in the boot. http://infinitysystems.com/caraudio/product.aspx?ProdId='BASSLINK+X'&Ser=BSL&Cat=SUB You would probably need to feed power from the battery to the boot, but not a major job really. |

If the power to the boot is 'ignition switched' that could be used for power on/off |

I had the rear speakers out when I was installing my sub, Didn't take any measurements but they looked the same size as the fronts.
