Concert pack

Right then. I've checked my paperwork, seems I have the concert pack. As I recall that's the whole-damn-lot upgrade for the stereo right?

Can anyone else who has the concert pack tell me how loud there CD player goes to. I love the sound but it's just not loud enough for me. Maybe they didn't fit the extra amplifier (noone came up with an easy way to look) or maybe there's a gain control somewhere, or maybe I just have an over optimistic view of what the concert pack should sound like.

Listening to the radio in the morning, about volume 30 (out of 40) is easy to hear/not too loud. 40 is fine quality but not super-loud.

thanks

Volume 30?!? I haven't had mine over volume 15.... As a general rule, you should not drive an amp at more than 1/3rd of its volume

I think you may have a bit of a snag with yours,

Glen

that's what I mean. The sound is still great at 40 (no distortion) but it's too quiet. Is there a gain control on the amplifier and can I reach it without taking the dash to bits?

DO YOU FIND PEOPLE ALWAYS SEEM TO TALK SLOWLY OR SHOUT AT YOU, OF FIND THAT YOU CAN'T HEAR PEOPLE ON THE PHONE?
If volume 30 is not too load for, you might want to consider getting your hearing checked

Sorry, I'm being a bit silly now. I have no idea, I can only suggest talking to your dealer, and if they can't help, Honda UK.
Seriously, I hope you get your sound working OK, or your HEARING SORTED (ok sorry, that was the last tome) soon.

no problem. it's going in for it's first service in a few weeks time so if I don't get any joy here, I'll ask the dealer. I was hoping someone else here would say "I have the concert pack and it's so loud at full volume I have to get out of the car" or something similar so I can take it back safe in the knowledge that something is actually wrong with mine.

Have you got the auto volume thing set to MAX? This will reduce the volume at low/no speed..

Are you listening to MW? Known bug where MW goes quiet under quick usage of radio controls.

Gain setting is on the amp which is inside the dash. Annoying.

Anyway, that's the answer. I reckon it's your speed adjusting volume

Quick trip back to the dealer to get the gain sorted I reckon. On my standard kit it's getting near full power at volume 22 - this is useful for when you are playing something quiet (piano stuff) and need the extra volume in the range.

I think you're right, back to the dealer, get them to turn the gain up. damn silly it's behind the dash, I might see if they'll relocate it.

Spoke to someone who had it put in the glovebox.
