USB interface...

Hi,

Just wondering if anyone has tried this Kenwood unit?

from this, you should be able to plug in an ipod or any other usb mp3 player/memory stick...

I think you would loose head unit control though

You would lose a large part of the dash too probably...

If I was going to do that I'd put in an Alpine system, this one displays artwork too!

But I can't, the EX dash is too specialised. Id lose all the NAV controls which simply wouldn't do!

You don't loose the HU control with the kenwood because the signal are send to the HU through the FM band with a RDS code for the name of the album etc ...

Mmm, very clunk solution & don't most transmitters have far inferior sound quality than using a physical connection?

transmitter

Check out the wiring diagram in the manual, this is not an FM transmitter as such it is connected between the head unit and ariel. So should not get the same issues as the "wireless" transmitters.

I meant that you would not have control of next track etc of the mp3's via the HU / steering controls...
