That's not enough for me, hence why I bought an EX, money wasn't an issue and I wanted something high spec.

If every car was exactly the same they would be very boring.

My Mitsi' 4x4 Truck (long gone!) had Multi Player CD/DVD with a full Surround Sound DSP install. It was fantastic even playing CD's, but DVD's where something else. Don't Dis' something until you have experienced it at is very best. Only put it down when you hear it at its worst!

If replacing the radio, what about controls on the steering wheel ? What about display on the main screen of the car ? How do you set up the clock then ?

There has to be a way round this.

Afterall doesn't the base spec come without at CD player? Does this mean they don't get a clock or temperature display either? I doubt it.

There must be a little circuit board that controls these things.

In the base model, there are buttons under the display screen to set up the clock. But when radio installed, clock buttons move to the radio !

The base model came without stero at the start and had a blanking panel instead - you can get these from the stealer and then mod to take your HU. Think it may even have been preped to be modified for a 1/2 dim unit. Speak to the stealer - he'll go through the parts catalogue with you.

As to the radio receiption 3rd honda mentions, it is related to the glass antena - same problem in the Accord - certain area it's crap - nothing to do with the head unit (It's guite a good Panasonic unit actualy) just a bad ariel design for the UK's coverage. Wife's Jazz with a bee sting has no problem in the same areas. So if you want to improve it, fit an antena.

But I agree with baillieswells. You can't appreciate the quality of a good system in a car with out cranking it up to an un-socialble level. And if you do well.... you've got your answer.

It's the speakers that let things down.

The Panasonic head unit may be a reasonable quality but it is far too limited.

I think I may have discovered why my signals been so bad on radio reception recently. I had my Bluetooth GPS plugged into the rear socket and sitting in the middle of the parcel shelf. The electrical interference from the power cable must have effected the signal.

Similar to the heated windscreen problem that some folk have reported.

I have my snooper (on the dash) powered by an extention cord from the rear power socket. Will test disconnecting to see if there is a differance.

What route does the ariel cable take from the HU to the rear window?
