Type R Stereo Questions
Hi folks, i currently drive a standard EP3 Type R.
I'm currently weighing up my options on my next car. My question is, how good is the stereo on the new FN2 CTR? What extra's are worth getting? I see there are 3 speaker upgrades on the Honda website Is the i-pod connection good? Can dvd's be played if you have sat nav? Sorry about all the questions, i just like to learn everything i can about a car. |

Don't. Get a set of infinities instead There are several threads on this in here, plus a How To guide Quote:
It allows some control of the iPod, but only with 8 playlists... So, it's ok - but worth £200? There are some almost viable alternatives out there, but nothing yet that works and gives all the features you would expect Quote:
Unless you tap in an external source into the screen (which has been done - see the How To section), such as a PS2. Still working on getting the sound though Quote:
The search function is VERY useful |

I had the same questions!
After reading the forum and asking a few things, I decided NOT to order any Honda audio upgrades (I was thinking Bassworks and Ipod adapter). So the forum saved me money! Well no actually, I spent it on reversing sensors and blue footwell lighting instead But I think that a much better option! I do plan to fit some aftermarket speakers up front however. See the Wiki about this. I think everyone agrees that that is more value for money. With the i-pod adapter, I just think the controls are too lacking for what it costs and I am happy burning CDs with mp3s. Other mp3 player connection possibilites are in the Wiki. The HU is about the same as any integrated unit in this price range of car. The sat-nav DVD is seperate (in the glove box) and can only be used for the sat-nav. But that does mean you can play CDs while the sat-nav disc is loaded. Last edited by FWH; 24th July 2007 at 21:19. Reason: spelling |

Thats his way of saying, 'Don't be so lazy next time!'
No really, TT has answered everything pretty well, for more in depth thoughts and feedback there are threads in the ipods+ICE section. Generally the Honda products are pretty average, not bad, but there are better third party upgrades available. There's food and there's M&S food... |
