Aftermarket speakers
I have got my new type r on order (arriving 23rd sept) i orginally order with bassworks and ipod adaptor...then i joined this forum, im very glad i did!
I have decided against the ipod seeing as everyone says it is very limited and very expensive! I am still deciding on speakers, i spoke to my dealer and he gave me a name of an audio shop/fitter who do work for them so i will be talking to them. I was keen to get feed back from people who have had after market systems fitted. Regarding the baseworks, would it solve the issues people are having by getting honda to fit the amp in the glove box so i can adjust it? Also i see everyone is using Astra speaker brackets, are there not any Civie ones?! Any help is useful! Cheers Leigh |

Hi Leigh and Welcome!
This forum saved me from ordering ipod and bassworks! Being able to adjust the amp is a bonus, but I still don´t think it would be worth the money. Every-one seems disapointed. I am going for aftermarket stuff. Havent quite decided how much though yet. Will start with front speaker upgrade. For example see this: [HOW TO] Make the Bassworks system sound reasonable.. There are many other threads on this too, see here: New car buyer sound equip options There are some aftermarket installations examples in the Wiki I think, if not you should be able to find them in the ICE section. There are no 8th Generation Civic brackets that we know of yet. Good luck and enjoy the wait! Last edited by FWH; 5th August 2007 at 19:15. |

Apparently with 3-door bassworks sounds better, as on 5-door, rear speakers are in doors.
Needless to say, I bought bassworks, and currently am removing it and putting amp/subwoofer in car, and replacing speakers. |
