Honda Ipod non gen vs Parrot mki9200

Hi,

I have a question regarding the Honda Ipod non gen and Parrot mki9200.

I went to my local Honda and asked if they could install a Ipod adaptor for me which they quoted £213 fitted. Which I think is ok I guess from what i've seen is involved in taking most of the dashboard and centre consol apart.

A friend in work has bought a new A3 sline and had a Parrot Mki9200 fitted and I was very impressed plus it gives me the abilty to plug in a 3.5mm and a USB. I've looked at getting this fitted to and its basicly the same price.

Just wondered what you guys would do as I've also read on here the Honda ipod adaptor is crap.

Much appreciated the advice.

Warm Regards

Luke

Was thinking exactly the same tbh. Pretty much hope there are no holes needed as I may return it to standard in a couple years.

You have a 58 plate like myself so thats awesome to know.

May I ask for a picture to see how you have mounted it? I'm getting a Local parrot installer to install mine.

If you can wait till tomorrow night i will get a picture up for you.Can you not do the install yourself has there is a howto on here has it involves takeing out the centre armrest and gearstick surround so you can get to the 2 fixing bolts that hold the stereo in place?if not tell the installer not to put them back has if you need to get back behind the unit it is very easy has you only need to lift up the flat part of the dash that sits above the stereo and then you can just pull on the stereo and it will come out.Hope this helps.

I can wait I've spent so much the last month (Canon digital SLR camera and loads of detailing kit) for a new business venture I was planning on waiting a couple weeks. Just wanted some feedback in the mean time so I can weigh in my options and I'm definetly gonna go for one of these.

I could proberly easily install it myself but I'd rather pay the company £35 to do it for me and save me the trouble at least if they break anything they can replace it and I dont have to pay haha. I've seen the guide though and where the guy who done it mounted it is a great place. Im thinking of putting my cables in the glovebox as there is a grommet supplied I think that would be the best place?

can you also operate these from the steering wheel?

How can the parrot sound better??

It uses bluetooth which is notorious for loosing sound quality against a lead hard wired into the head unit = no sound loss
