I am not sure if I am on the same wave length A.Regan but getting access to the rear speakers is far more easier than the fronts. Once you remove the arm rest in the rear. Then you only have the two wires to the speaker to attach on the left and the same on the right. That is probably the easiest method instead of cutting the main headunit wiring harness.

This guide will help you remove it which is written by Munro which is really good. I Installed my LOC in the bottom by the seatbelt in a hidden area.

Other civinfo members may be able to give better help as I am not a audio expert I just like learning and doing it DIY style.
Pete, Goodluck.

Thanks for the advice ctr.did think there must be an easier way.so I can connect to the speaker wires without having to channel into the rear door?as not sure ive got enough wire on my loc.

Should I be able to find the two speaker cable under the trim where the seat belt is?

Cheers

You will find it better if you take the rear armrest off. You can access the bottom of the armrest were the seatbelt is and use that little space to place your LOC. As the speaker wire (2 cables) are better accessed behind the armrest as the wire goes through a hole into the back of the speaker. You may be able to see this in Munro's examples. I am sorry my description was probably not great. The speaker wire is hooked up before it goes through the hole to attach to the speaker if you unhook it then you will hopefully have enough wire to reach your LOC if you position it in the little space next to the seat belt which is below the armrest. Hope I have explained this ok. If you want I will try and take a picture of my installed LOC.

Pete.

No worrys regan, sorry I just get carried away thinking everyone has a 3 door lol. I will have to have a think about that one. I suppose it is gonna have to be the method you suggested originally unless you can get to the wire at the bottom of the middle pilar between the front door and the rear.

I hope another member who has fitted a LOC in a 5 door maybe able to help as I have also had a look at this website
Original Honda Car Parts from Lings - Model Selection
which may help. But I am not 100% sure about your exact model but if you configure it you may be able to find the location of the wiring harness in some of the pictures.
Hope you have success and if you figure out a way post it on your thread as I am interested how to do it know. Goodluck.
Pete.
