Do I need an LOC for my amp? (Subwoofer-only connection)
I have a Kenwood KAC-648 amp, which I'm hoping to use to power a sub (just the sub, nothing else). Do I need to use an LOC between the head-unit speaker outputs and amp?
http://manuals.kenwood.novenaweb.inf...ls/KAC-648.pdf Page 10 of the manual describes the connection between the speakers and amp as being direct. 'Speaker level input connection'. I have a 2007 Civic Sport with the standard CD stereo. Sorry for the confusion - I just want to double check before ordering an LOC - no point if I don't need to!! Many thanks. |

No, you don't need one. A LOC is only needed if your amp has just line level inputs, but your speaker level inputs combined with the built in crossover on the amp are perfect for this job.
