Hi All,
My car details are - Make: HONDA Year of manufacture: 2009 Model: CIVIC SE I-CTDI Engine size(CC): 2204 I don't think it currently has any USB or AUX connections in the vehicle. I currently use an FM Transmitter to play music from my iPod to Radio, it sounds awful! So I am going on a long driving holiday with my girlfriend and would love to be able to connect our iPod to allow music to play through the speakers. I want something which can work good, play well. I don't care about changing tracks on the steering wheel just via the iPod itself. I would be good if it could charge the iPod and play too... I really have ZERO idea on how to connect or know if I'm purchasing the right thing, so please please help me out! Thank you very much! -Flack |

Look in the armrest (the bit that lifts up). If you have any connections for an iPod they will be in there.
If you do not, this is the option for you: Honda iPod Interface*::*HONDA*::*XCarLink It plugs into the back of the stereo as per this guide. How to: Install the Xcarlink in a 2008 Civic EX |

It is very easy to do overall, it just looks a little daunting. |

The only thing that bothers me with this install is whether the supplied cabling with xcarlink is long enough to reach between the back of the head unit & the armrest storage space. Does anyone know for sure that this is not a problem ?
Also, do xcarlink users not find it annoying that the ipod must be kept inside the armrest if you want it down otherwise the cable between ipod & xcarlink would get jammed ? Or is there a clever way round that ? Last edited by social mogul; 29th July 2012 at 00:11. |

Can't answer the second one, but how thick is the cable? Assume it must be thicker than the standard iPod cable otherwise you could just shut the lid with the cable outside. |
