does anybody tried to put a cd-charger from an accord, crv or other, to the panasonic of our 06+ civic ?? it's an easy way to see if the interface is the same on alpine and new panasonic ... and then if it's work, seems that any other interface based for the alpine will work well on the panasonic!

The connector is the same (now standard in Honda's), as are the audio +/- pins. It's the data protocols that are in question (Track details etc. on HU display)

So maybe someone could try with a honda, non-panasonic cd-charger, to see if it's possible to swap disc ? If it works well, it would be a good hope for other usb devices

Obvious question but I will ask anyway, can the clove box be removed from the front, maybe giving limited access to the back of the radio?

Exclamation XCAR Link iPOD interface

Just thought I would let everyone know that I just spen the whole morning stripping down my "new" EX dash to add the above unit.

Only to find that it does not work or is not compatable with the new firmware in the radio.

I had to use the Y adapter (order from the US as it is £90 here from honda only £18 in the US)

The radio recognised the the "EXTENSION" but no sound was forthcoming only a very faint click from the ipods click wheel.

Anyone else had this problem or has any pointers??

XCAR Link come with a 30days return if not compatable offer so guess what!!

Comments anyone?
