Crap or no reception?

As you can see in my other post I am fitting a new HU, pioneer. I fitted the aerial adpater and the singal is like I have no signal at all.

When I touch the connection where the antenna plugs into the HU I get singal.

I have tried the blue wire on the remote and on a 12v and still no luck?

Anything I am missing? Thanks,

Eco display
I fitted my pioneer unit and did as you've already described - blue wire onto the remote connection - and it works fine. Double check connections etc as there shouldn't be anything else.

Same with me, blue wire went to the remote.

I found the reception a lot better with the new head unit, reception on my favourite stations has always been lousy and this is my second 8th gen Civic. Anyway, much, much better reception with the Pioneer.

The connection on the honda adpater was crap. Got one out of the motor factors and stripped about 1cm of the wire and shoved it into the new one. Its better but not great at all.

Whats the alternative?

I'm amazed, maybe your lead is dodgy. Was it ok with the Honda head unit?

You could try another otherwise maybe try fitting one of those external shark fin aerials they sell on ebay? look a bit naff though.

Yeah worked with the honda HU, I got an interior one there online. I know I can fit the back of the HU without having to take it all out again, so going to put that in and mount it on the glass, hopefully that will work. This civic will break me yet I tells ye!

Calearo AN7697015 Universal Active FM Antenna

So I got one of these, and it works if its in the middle of the damn windscreen! If its not, then its as crackly as ever.

Can someone please give me a solution?? I was thinking of an extension cable and mounting it on the back windscreen.

I also ordered and inline amp, but someone has told me all that will do is amplify the already crap signal. Doing my head in so it is. Just seems the new radios, arent really for the FM part are they.

Are you guys using the Honda aerial in the rear screen ? That has an aerial amplifier already fitted but is apparently really crap in some areas. I would fit an external aerial straight into the HU.

I am using the one in the link, as the honda one was poo. This does seem better but still not acceptable.

IDEA - mount it on the glass roof if I can hide the cables and if it reaches.
