Door sound insulation.

About to do the front doors on the civic. Have, well I think I have 32 square foot of soundx, is this enough?

And my other question are there any detailed guides on it, because its hard to tell from pics once you see them covered. Thanks.

32square foot is more than enough. The 2 front doors to do behind the door card and behind the speaker would take about6 if you go crazy.
Don't do the plastic door card stick it on metal,

Reading online a lot of people recommend flashing tape e.g. Toolstation > Roofing & Drainage > Roofline & Ventilation > Flashing Tape
What's the difference? I can't see one...

It even looks the same as the SoundX stuff - the price is a couple of quid cheaper so I'd be surprised if it's anything different?

I can confirm "Flashband" from b and q is exactly the same as the advanced and engineered soundex, Im nearly sure the "Batch" sticker on the actual roll on the two was a similar style and barcode. One door, done, gonna have to get clips that are slighty bigger than the honda ones to grip that door.

Fantastic, thank you for that!

This stuff ?

Looks quite narrow though. That would probably be a bonus though when trying to stick it on the outer skin behind the speakers.

That's the stuff. Evo-Stik's "Flashband" is branded and is actually more expensive than SoundX - you'd need to get an unbranded one like I linked above. The advantage is that you can get the tape in various widths to suit!

After 1st hand experience of using this SoundX stuff I'll be honest, never again will I buy it or use it.

It's horrible stuff made of cheap sticky rubbish which when in the heat of the sun melts into a goo'ey tar that runs down behind the door card onto the door sill, gets on your clothes and is difficult to clean up get rid of.

I bought it thinking yep it's cheap and I get loads of it, I guess you get what you pay for.

Applying the product is fine I only noticed the problem a few months later on a summers day and investigated what it was.

Sorry to be negative just wanted to share my experience with this particular product.

Any feedback is good feedback as it's a view on the product in real world use!

On site I stole some stuff called "bitchothene" it's basically dynamat but instead of silver it's blue. We use it to stop damp passing through.
Not sure if you can buy in small roles but its about200 quid for 1000square foot. So a lot cheaper.
Just a thought.
And vibes "antivibe" is not much different to dynamat and is quite a bit cheaper.
