The lead would not stretch to the rear window. It would probably stretch from on side of the screen to the other, but no further.
I got rid of mine after a day because the reception was very poor and unlistenable to. If you get one don't stick the ariel to the screen immediately so that you can move it around to get the best reception and remove it if you are not satisfied.

I did a run yesterday from Dunfermline to Strathaven (East Central to West Central Scotland, about 50 - 60 miles apart). My first proper drive since I got my Pure (a couple of weeks ago). I haven't yet worked out where I'm going to permanently have mine, so at the moment, so I just have a temporary set up. Have the ariel attached to the passenger side pillar next to the front windscreen with a bit of black tape, with the cable just running into the glove box. If I wanted to, there's sufficient of a lead to stretch to the cubby near the handbrake. But, as I'm not that bothered about seeing the display, inside the glove box works for me. Every now and then, it would be useful to know what track's being played, but I'd rather just be able to listen to the station in the first place.

During the journey, I only lost the DAB signal on one occasion, but in the same place where the DAB radio in my previous car always lost it. Where I did have a problem sometimes, was with the strength of the FM signal. However, given how crap the RDS is in my car, that's hardly surprising (due for it's first service end of the month, so will get whatever radio fixes are available). We're driving down to Hull this coming week-end, so that should be a better test of the device. But, so far, I've been very pleased with it. I accept that the clarity of sound is not as some would have hoped for, but to me, always having had after market units, I consider the radio in the Civic to be pretty awful. What's transmitted is no worse than any other FM station - and better than most.

Yeah I am thinking about getting one of these, however, I am not sure I want to stick the ariel to my windscreen, and also dont want to have the unit stuck to the windscreen.

So am I correct in thinking, I can stick the ariel anywhere, and run a cable to the unit, which I plan to hide somewhere, or perhaps mount in the cubby hole under the radio!

Not having actually stuck my ariel to the windscreen yet, I can't say whether that actually gives the best reception. But, the ariel is pretty unobtrusive. As far as using the cubby under the radio, you'd need access to the buttons on the device and the to see the screen could be useful at times. I currently just have mine inside the glove box, so can see screen, push buttons, etc whenever I need to.

So you dont actually need to stick the ariel to anything? I could just sit it under a seat (wont give the best reception, I know, but just thinking about it)

Does anyone have one of these?

I have just read a review that says that the FM transmission facility is turned off when you are running it on batteries?

I didn't really want to have cables running from the unit to my cigarette lighter constantly. I know it would probably munch through batteries.

Can anyone confirm or deny this?

Confirmed - can only transmit when running off power socket.

I have never looked at QVC on the t.v., in all the time that we have had SKY, except for yesterday, when I was clicking through the channels and noticed that they were doing Car Care.
Type in their search box -- Mod Pod and see what you think of this little gizmo.
It also picks up radio stations and sends them to the car radio.
The link to the video of yesterdays program has gone, but having watched the thing working, I was impressed. No messing about with an ipod connection to the radio and if not happy with it, -- 4 weeks to return for a full refund.
