You know what guys.... A quick, non-sarcastic answer would have been appreciated and would have taken you the same amount of time to type. The wiki's usually refer to the EX stereo with SatNav. Hence my questions pertaining to the standard CD Player.
Never mind, I'll ask elsewhere. |

I want to add a connects2 to my HU, but slight problem, I have bassworks, and also a Parrot handsfree kit connected so room underneath the headunit is at a premium... I can't see how I'm going to squeeze yet another box in there!

Chaps,
I installed the DICE unit, cost me about £70 from a uk seller on Ebay. It works a treat. Getting the trim off was a bit of a pain, but I now have the cable route to my arm rest, so that my Ipod Nano 3rd Gen now sits on the sliding cup-holder cover. Steering controls work a treat, but also you can still operate the controls on the Ipod (by flicking a dip switch on the DICE box). It was certainly worth the time & effort, and I'm certain that the iPod actually sounds better than the CD player. I must say, taking the dash & centre console apart IS NOT for the faint hearted! |

Quick side question... all I want to do is charge and play my iPod Touch thorough a Connects2 box (no video, I have the ES)... will this cable do the job? I suspect it will, but want to be sure...
Connects2 iConnect iPod Docking Connector to RCA Connection £24.99 including VAT. ICONNECT. Buy discounted car audio online at In-Car Express Thanks! |

Scratch that - In Car Express confirmed it will work fine as long as the software version is up to date enough, so I've placed my order. 65 squid including P&P seems very reasonable cf the Honda option! Now I jsut have to steel myself to install it all, but using the guides on this forum it doesn't look too hard - wish me luck!

This is a mod I have been thinking about, but the car is still too new to feel confident about disassembling the dash. Please let us know how you get on with it !! Chapter and Verse, please !! |

Hmmmm... so I have the iPod to connects2 cable that charges it up, and the std connects2 box (VHOX001) known to be Civic compatible, but I now have an interesting conundrum. The iPod cable actually came with a different (non-RCA) plug on the end and a different connects2 unit (that wa a surprise, should have looked more closely at the picture!). Unfortunately this doesn't look like it is specced to ape the CD changer as per the VHOX001
I will test it anyway, but I suspect I'll end up with the standard setup (output out of iPods headphone socket) with a separate car charger* - boooo... Now all I have to do is decide whether to install it before I go on holiday on Sunday - I don't want to travel 500+ miles with the dash hanging off cos I couldn't clip it all back! * - I'm hoping In car express will give me a refund for the iPod lead if this happens. Hope I don't sound too stupid here:
1. Is a Dice box the same as a Dension Ice box? 2. Does the Connects2 solution not charge the ipod? It suggested on the connects2 site that it does. 3. The connects2 solution is a fair bit cheaper, is it worth paying the extra for the Dension? Last edited by mike20 : 25th April 2008 at 15:56. Reason: correcting typo |
