I got the ambient lighting kit, premium mats and badge and decals, all fitted for £200. I love how the lights come on and get brighter when you get into the car and then slowly dim to a faint red glow when you're driving.

At £9.99 you can't really go wrong can you, Top idea!!

You have a sub eh? Any other ICE upgrades? Does the sub soak up all the boot space? I need better sound!

Hi Dimplyred

Is that right? I also have the ambient lights (standard red) but they only come on with the lights switched on? Do yours come on when you open the doors as well??

I can only assume mine were incorrectly fitted at the dealers, they only come on with the lights and are always the same level of brightness.

I've just been outside in the freezing cold to see, cos I was starting to doubt myself!!

Mine come on bright when I unlock the car, when I switch on the ignition they dim to a faint red glow, providing the side lights or head lights are on, and stay on. Then when I switch the ignition off they come up bright again until I lock the car then they dim to nothing with the interior lights.

My dealer, Holdcroft Honda, sell the kit on ebay for £99.

2007 Civic Type'R Red Ambient Footwell Lighting on eBay, also, Honda, Car Parts, Cars, Parts Vehicles (end time 16-Dec-07 16:27:36 GMT)

They have stated on this forum that they can beat ebay prices for Civinfo members, so I don't know how much cheaper this would make them.

Then you could ask your dealer for a price to fit it.

Personally though I would fit the Halfords ones and use the fitting instructions for the blue ambient lights in the wiki as a guide.

Yes, click on the forum tab at the top of this page just underneath Santa to the right and then tab down until you get to the dealer section, they're in there.
