Want something instead of cigerette lighter!

I dont smoke and no-one would ever be allowed to smoke in my car so i would like suggestions of any gadgets, lights, etc that would sit in the lighter socket.

My focus had a non-smokers pack which had a blanking plug that said 'power outlet' on it. Even sumthing like that would be good if i knew where to get one from.

I have seen a post where someone has an led lenser torch so that is one option im looking at.

All ideas very welcome.

Thanks,

Az

I have seen a post somewhere on here referencing a power outlet cap that would fit.

The only snag with using the ciggy lighter as a power socket is that it is so badly fitted that the whole fitting pops out quite easily.

Not all the way because it has a small plastic fin but not a good fit.

Doesn't the power outlet in the boot say something like 'Power outlet' on the blanking plug?
Couldn't you swap the cigarette lighter in the dash with the blanking plate?

Thanks guys, i did notice today the power socket in the boot had a cover on it but it is attached somehow.
The Led Lenser torch is a cool idea, especially as it glows blue while charging.
Cheers for the link Bob, wish i'd kept the one from the focus but £4 aint bad with the postage.

As it happens I too don't smoke and will not allow anyone else to do so in my car. I use the lighter socket to power an in car air freshener called Ambicar Electronic Air Freshener. It has an LED to indicate that it is on, is a neat little design and works very well. I recommend the ocean fragrance and can be obtained from speeding .co.uk. I’ve used them before and can highly recommend them. They do other bits and bobs that may be of interest. Give them a try.

I'm not connected to this site or gain any benefit from recommending them other than helping members on this forum. They are good and the air freshener is top notch.

That's a quite useful gadget, and will give lots more light than one might expect (I have a LedLenser), my only worry would be if the battery will not be damaged if left in frost... Does someone know the temp range of NiMH/Li-Ion batteries? I assume it has one of these

I've got a plug in air ioniser in mine which is funky as it glows blue as well!! I think it came off E-Bay - can't remember as it was a couple of years ago but I'm sure it was off there. About the same size as a small torch but a lot funkier!!!
