Head Washer

Scandinavian civics have head light washers which use a lot of washer fluid. Anyone know when these are operating? When light switch is Off? (We still have dipped beam head lights). When in Auto position? ("On" will dim the dash and enable head beam, "off" sets dash lights in daylight position and only allow dipped beam).

They only work when the headlights are lit

They do seem to use a fair bit, I do a 140 mile drive to work on a Monday morning, this week it was very mucky (salt on the road) so I had to use the washers quite frequently. About 5 miles from work I noticed that the washer spray wasn't as good as it was earlier. Got to work and filled up the washer bottle, it took 5 litres!!!!. Good job I carry a can of made up washer fluid in the boot.
