I believe you need to take the front bumper off, which in turn needs the front wheel arch trims to be taken off too but I have never done it do I could be very wrong.

Here you go. This shows how to get access to the fog lights.

Adding fog lights - Civinfo Wiki

There is a lot of useful information in the wiki, it's always worth having a look to see if the answer is is in there.

Thanks mate,
I did see that description, but was hoping it might be not as in depth for a straight swap of one light..........the manual makes it look so easy!!!!

I've just had a quick look at my car to refresh my memory.

I had my front bumper off at the weekend to install the front splitter. I noticed that the fog light are held in by, I think, three screws. If you remove the wheel arch trim on which ever side the fog light needs replacing, ( as explained in the wiki ) there is a screw behind that trim that holds to top of the front bumper by the headlight. I think this screw along with the clips on the wheel arch trim also hold the under arch black plastic shield. Once these are removed the shield will be free along the wheel arch edge and so you'll be able to pull it away from the edge of the bumper and get you hand in to remove the screws holding the fog light.

Hope this helps.

Good for you, I assume you didn't remove the bumper.

A little late for my reply.

I watched the mechanics at my dealer changing my smashed fog light. It's mounted with a single bolt from the bottom of the spoiler. The hole is deep ~5-10 cm so you might need an extension to the socket spanner.

No I didn't fully remove the bumper, just enough to get in behind the drivers side fog, and the bolt was a pain to get at, but I used a socket screw driver in the end and it did it ok.
Just got red arms from scraping them down the inside of the bumper.....but it was worth it!

Good to hear this - got to replace one of mine and I was hoping that I wouldn't have to remove the whole bumper.

Bit late updating but courtesy of a friend with a ramp - changed the lamp in 5 minutes. As others have said, its simply a matter of accessing the single bolt with a socket extension from the access holes underneath
