[Indicator] Wing mirror indicator lights

I've had my Civic diesel now for just over 2 months, and I have just noticed how weak the wing mirror indicator lights are. They seem to be virtually invisible during daylight hours.
I assume they are LED's. Maybe they are fine at night, but during the day they are next to useless.

Anybody else any thoughts on this?

Being as I can't see them from the drivers seat I've never noticed whether they are easily seen, or not.

I'll keep a lookout for another Civ that's indicating

The overall large area of the indicator is pretty poorly lit, during daylight, but is perfectly bright at night.

However, when viewing the wing mirror from alongside, and slightly to the rear (i.e. When the repeater indicator is most useful, for a car in your blindspot) the lights are quite bright - there are two LEDs at the edge of the repeater and I think they are angled slightly towards the rear.

I observed this once when following another Civic out of my work carpark, as it turned right onto the main road, and the repeaters in the mirror were quite visible.

Yeah, at night or in low light level conditions they do the biz, but two LEDs at the side of the indicator was never going to be bright during the day (well looking from the front). I would hope that other road users pay attention to the rest of your car to see if you are indicating as not all cars have this little luxury.

Oh and if you happen to go by a Civic indicating that is side on to you, you will notice them flashing

Here's a short video showing the angle you need to see the mirror indicators at for them to be their brightest - which still isn't very bright

(How sad am I, taking videos of my indicators working )

Thanks for the replies, I still think that the repeaters are too weak for the job in daylight, especially as the glass size in the mirror is quite large. I personally think that side repeater indicators are worth their weight in gold, especially on roundabouts, etc.

Side repeaters are useful for side on views as, when looking at most modern cars, one cannot see the front or rear light clusters clearly when 90 degrees on to the car.

There is however another reason why the old style wing mounted lights are now on the mirrors, relating to the corrosion protection of the vehicle. If they are mounted on the mirrors, there is no longer the need to have a hole in ones front wing with light fittings etc attached and the increased opportunity of water ingress/potential corrosion.......

Sorry to confuse you NH Dan, but when I said side indicators I didn't mean just on the side of the car body, but also the wing mirrors i.e lights seen from the side. I have no problem with where the indicators are, just the brilliance of the lights during daylight hours.
