Have you tried replacing the bulbs with aftermarket upgrade bulbs and / or check the adjustment of the lights?

See the lights section in the Wiki for more info.

I upgraded the headlights, main beam and side lights, as I wasn't that impressed with the originals either.

Here's the link to the lighting section in the wiki, FWH has mentioned.

I have HID lights and think they are good.

When I had a Focus I bought xenon type bulbs as I wasn't impressed with the lights and these were an improvement.

Cheers for your quick replies, it seems from the forums that the Osram Night Breakers are very popular choice for the H1's and H7's sidelights, what do people suggest as i dont know too much about the lights all i know is that mine are really bad?!

So combined with the super bright whites (501's) which i gather are the best, do they match? and is it a white light or is it more of a blue / purple light?

The super white LED do look bluer in comparison but the performance of the upgraded bulbs is better by miles!!

Reading the Wiki it says that some models are HID and some are not, so if i went for the super white LED and then phillips X-treme and vision plus for the H7 and H1 would this work all OK in my TYPE S 1.8 57 Model? Sorry for asking probably obvious question, don't have too much knowledge on this area, and wanna make sure i get the right ones! Cheers

For reasons only known to Honda, the Type S in the UK doesn't come with HID lights.

I have the same upgrade on my Type S as Robbo, Philips X-treme for the H7 bulb (which is for the dipped beam) and Philips Vision Plus for the H1 bulb (main beam).

I can recommend this upgrade as it does make a lot of difference to driving at night.

From eBay, not sure if you can get a black one though.
It was supposed to be for the wheel caps, but it was the wrong size.
If you need any help just ask and i'll meet up with you

The Philips bulbs are sold in a pack containing 2 bulbs, so you only need to buy one pack of each type of bulb.

Have successfully fitted my upgraded bulbs now, went for 501 super bright white, Philips X-Treme H7 & Vision Plus H1 looks great, the 501 are alot more blue when compared to the dipped H7's, would of been nice if the philips bulbs match with the whiter colour, however i am delighted with results from the philips bulbs they are X10 better! Would defenitly recommend this upgrade to anyone thinking of changing. Will upload pictures soon, thanks to all the replies and help very useful.

Here are a few pics of the lights in each mode, full beam (H1) and dipped (h7) and sidelights (501). Not too sure about the Super bright whites as dont really give out alot of light when dark, but suppose they dont really ever do, however the Philips H1 & H7 are very bright and long vision. Hope this helps, Thanks again.
