Question Trouble fitting type r rear lights on a 5dr

Hi guys!

I'm new to this forum even if I've been reading a lot !!
and I have to say that you are great and very kind people !!

I am a proud owner of a 5dr NHB 07 CIVIC....and here comes the thing

I've bought the two lateral bits of the CTR rear lighting...(amazing look I have to say)....but when I tried to fit them I noticed that
1) the bulb holder is slightly different and
2) the orange indicator bulbs they gave me were about half the size of my original ones I think they made a mistake....

can somebody please post a couple of pics showing the CTR bulbs and bulb holders?
do I have to buy also the CTR bulb holders, and then, are the wires easy to fit?

thanks

yep indeed - the R bits have a slightly different arrangement of sticky out bits on the bulb holders.

either do what antee did (nice pics! ), or what I did which was to slightly enlarge the holes (not so great pics )

Many many thanks!!

probably the easiest thing to do is to remove the smaller plastic bits... but do they stay well fixed in place? hope so...

firstly I'll go to my dealer and ask them to give me the right orange bulbs this time !!!
anyway I've been previously told that the type r bulb holders cost about 3 euros.. not much...
my only concern is that, in order to connect the wires to the new holders, I need to remove also the grey cilinder through which the wires go (you cannot see it from the pictures because it's inside, but those who saw the bulb holder know what I mean)
and I don't want to damage it: we all know the CIVC is a great car but very delicate !!!!

Also if you are going to do as in the pics remember to cut pointing AWAY from your fingers! As good as the lights look, having no fingers is not a good look....well not for the sake of some lights

Personally I'd use a drill and a small dremel sanding head, far safer than a stanley knife.

Hmm I was thinking of changing the indicator bulbs in the CTR on the back to Silver ones, but I think I'll just stick with the orange ones.

Done !!

Done !!! they look awesome.... (I'll post a wide-angle picture soon)

Actually, I changed the left one yesterday evening (see pics below) but it was late and I was too tired to get the entire job done...

so today my Civic was asymmetric.... (one type r and one not - though both perfectly working)

at noon also the right bit was in place ....

in the end, I have to say it was an easy job.

thanks for the suggestions!

yap !!

I did not take it too seriously when I was first told... but I was just about to...
and this mostly because of the lack of patience in cutting those little annoying bits of plastic...

alive though.... no wounds !!

Very nice indeed!
I've definitly gotta do this as well, think it will be particuarly effective against the silver.
I found a breaker with a Type-R and they wanted £50 for each corner, is that not the same price you can order them from honda for?!

well.... they asked 150 € + VAT for both (amber-orange bulbs included), but after a bit of bargain I got a 20% discount (basically no VAT).... neither cheap nor too expensive....

I saw some people in this forum fitting also silver bulbs: they give a clearer and whiter look but the difference (for me) is tiny...

you can also order from banzai-tuning.de indicators and silver bulbs for them....amber bulbs are standard ones....I got my indicator from them and they are same as orginal ones from honda.
