I had just finished the latest survey, saying how great my car was and completely fault free......... and went out to find foglight in bits! aaarrrgghh.
And then I remembered. This morning a VW Toe-rag (Tuareg or something) driven obviously by someone a bit 'small' couldn't stand being passed by the wee Civic. Nothing would do but he HAD to pass me at about 100mph and pulled in in front of me. I remembered thinking, silly B*****d glad I'm not paying his fuel bill. Then I heard a 'ping' checked the windscreen and thought nothing more about it. This was obviously my foglight evening up the financial score. I'm not so smug now! I don't think I'll replace it until a set of covers are purchased. (off to look for thread now).
Only this morning I was singing the praises of opting out of the Company Car scheme to buy the Civic, citing, so long as its reliable, I'll make in the long run. Looks like I could be running a while!
Totally p****d off!

I have just been to Honda in Lincoln with a smashed drivers side fog light,I have done 1600 miles. They are sending photos to Honda UK,they said they replaced one in a Type R recently and replaced it under warranty so I'm anticipating the same result.

Angry Another smashed Civic foglite

Our 2.2 cdti EX Galaxy grey came home last nite from work with my wife - and hey presto (see attached image) car is 2 months/3000 miles old, she heard or saw nothing to indicate breakage, no newly resurfaced roads etc???? There is a spot that looks like stone impact, but "in the flesh corners look stressed"? The inside corner appears to have shattered away, with the rest of it having most obvious cracks radiating in from corners. Spoke to a Renault tech (at dealer which has both Ren & Honda) he says the glass on this lite is MUCH thinner than on the Renaults, he admits shape is different, but thinks in that case glass on Honda should be MUCH thicker given the shape. 4 dealers contacted - none has one and say Honda UK dont have any - it will be an order from Europe!!!!! 2 weeks+ arrival at dealer, lens not seperate have to have whole unit. Prices to supply & fit between £112 & £130!!! ROBBERY - and Honda doesnt care as its a little extra for dealers to keep em sweet, and Hondas replacement parts section makes from it.

Have posted today 020607 F/O/S foglite smashed, a Renault tech at dealer which has both Ren & Honda, says Honda foglite glass is MUCH too thin, much more so than Renault. He says given lens shape and propensity to stress at corners it should be MUCH thicker glass. It seems all Honda dealers have had these in for replacements at some time or other. It's a design/manufacturing fault. john07
