Interior "background" lighting

hello,

has anyone else noted that even though we all have got the pretty blue halo around the tachometer and blue lighting for the speedo, and some of us (including me) have got the blue ambient lighting installed and not forgetting the tiny blue light in the middle of the front interior lights..

the lighting on the radio / switches / door switches etc are green??

WHY???

I don't know why this is. Although, thinking about it, if Honda had done that, maybe some of us may play the Plagarism card, as VW's interior is blue / red.

I do agree with you on this though! Also for £200 for the footwell lighting I paid for, I half expected the blue lighting to be installed under the front seats for the rear passengers' pleasure too!

Just checked (sad I Know), all mine are white except for possibly the switches on the steering wheel, they are just possibly very very light green.

With the Smart people figured out how to change these dash lights to Blue LED's, I'm sure this is possible on the Civic. It just needs somebody to open up the dash and find the LED types and mounting points.

In the smart these are tiny micro sized LED's plugged into circuit boards on the conventional dash itself, but most of the main dash switches are lit from a single bulb that reflects light around via a clever Prism/light tube system. Maybe the Honda works the same?

We really need a workshop manual.....

Wait, I've seen this photo and haven't noticed.

No...ALL of my lights are green; even the ones around the stereo.
I have an SE; maybe it's that?

Remember, the camera does lie! They are all green, but the wheel lights are a bit dimmer and a bit greener (and the camera has really accentuated that - I think it's a function of the exposure being one of several minutes).

Yeah, I think it could be model-specific as the picture with the white lighting has the sat-mav, where I, like your good self generationgav had got an SE.

I do agree with JPDirect that the blue footwell lighting could have been put in the back also, would look really cool. Perhaps we ought to try and sort this out as from what I've read and seen the blue lighting is easy enough to install so surely we could extend another wire to put a blue light under the drivers and passenger seats for the back??

anyone willing to give it a try?

Steevie, what I'm saying is that the picture of the car with the satnav does have all-green lighting, it's just that the photo makes some of them look white.

sorry Pottsy, was too busy writing my reply and missed yours!

I just think its a little odd that with all the blue lighting that looks cool we all have got the pale green on everything else!

Still say mine is all white except for the one above the CD slot which is green as TT said and the two Big Reds (Start & Hazards)

Just been and checked again and they are still white with one green and two reds. Tried dimming and brightening, still white one green and two reds

Have you got green tinted contacts

It's probably the wrappers that are causing the dashboard rustling sounds on some cars

That would encourage people to get in the back of the car and muck up the carpets!

Not in my motor matie!

So far they can't find the doors!!!
