Lightbulb Undercar LED/Neons

I know it's a little 90's but had a search around on ebay and a few places are selling Red or Blue LED's that can be wired up for that glowing effect under the car.

Has anyone else fitted these??

Can get the whole kit for less that 40 bucks.

Just thought it might look quite cool at a meet/show...........any thoughts

Isn't it illegal to shine a blue light? They're reserved for the emergency services.

Yeah they are.......I should know
Looking for the RED myself. Not wanting them on whilst driving, just when I'm parked up etc.

Just to clarify not looking for flashing ones!!!

100% Legal....................................as long as they are not on, whilst the car is on a public highway.......

Red wouldn't look too bad, but be wary of cheap kits, don't want it knackering your battery etc.

ive helped fit these on my friends fiesta a few years ago. most kits come with everything and all you need to do is drill a few holes and run some wires. it wont take long.

it would probably be worth spending a bit more than £40, a lot of the cheapest kits wont come with everything you need to fit and wire them up (screws, brackets, cables, switches ect)

just make sure the lights come with a fitting kit!

As far I can last remember, it is only illegal if you can see the bulbs. If you cannot see the bulbs, then a glow is not a problem. To be honest, I find this good news anyway as the whole point behind neons was to give the effect of the car floating - seeing the bulbs is the sign of a cheap installation (either by the chav-owner or the chav-spanner-monkey at Halfrauds). As much as neons have been abused by chavs over recent years, I must admit, I still love to see a well installed set. Just make sure you have deep enough skirts on your car and if necessary fit blanking walls to prevent 'bulb leakage'.

And as Ritchie states... I'd spend a bit more on them if you can, otherwise they just won't last.

neons

infact guys
i think..if its done properly it looks nice
what ive seen
is when you open a car door, 4 spots (circle in shape) light up the floor underneath the door when its open. like directly under the sill garnish when you step in, i saw a car with neons that lit up underneath making the road have 4 blue circles as the guy stepped in - that looked smart and space-ship-like

also - THE Best under car kits are made by PRISM -£120-200 but well worth it -theyre not chavishly strong-you CAN reset the colours when you like, and you can set the intensity of them so they arent in your face... you want like a warm red glow

i will get some -but only when the car is lowered..

i've noticed that when i use the fob to unlock my car the interior lights turn on. has anyone been able to tap into the same circuit that turn on these interrior lights to the outside of the car so that the neon/led lights turn on and turn off when i put my key in?

i think it'll be very cool that i'll be able to find my car in complete darkness because of the undercar lights that turn on when unlocking it!
