LED on Interior Light?....
I had a look under the cover of the front interior light unit. There seems to be a place Where you can fit an LED and I think it's been mentioned on this forum before. Between the two lights there's a tiny square of plastic that looks like an LED and the cover itself has a hole in it that would let the light shine through. As it is though it doesn't light up and I'm not sure if it's even wired up in any way.
I actually went with the option of the blue footwell lighting and I thought the LED in the centre light was part of the deal. Maybe it wasn't. Anyway...I was wondering if it's something I could fit myself. HAs anyone had a go at this yet? Could you post some details? |

Hi Just seen your post and I can confirm that I have the footwell lighting and the led you are referring to is connected on my vehicle as part of the lighting kit
Hope this helps - suggest trip to dealer who fitted your kit |

I have a little blue LED there; which is on whenever my lights are on (not even just door open, etc)
However I don't have the footwell lighting kit. The little blue LED is so dim/small though that it doesn't really make any difference; the dash gives off more glow |

I had the blue light in the Sport loaner I had, I also have it in my EX with blue footwell lights, I think you will be surprised what it does light up, when driving in the dark on unlit roads it casts what I can only describe as moonlight on to the gear stick area.

Could one of you guys that has the LED that I'm talking about fitted in your car take a picture of it like the one I posted (though maybe not quite so blury...sorry bout that) and post it on the site. I'd like to seewhat it looks like behindf the cover when it's fitted and what the wiring is like.

Potsy, is that little clear square piece of plastic between the two bulbs the LED? I have that on mine but it doesn't light up. I'm wondering was the ambient kit fitted incorrectly by my dealer.

Thanks Potsy and thanks Generationgav. Another problem solved. As I only got the car at the start of May I've hardly done any night driving. As the lights are never on I never got to see the LED light up. When I saw your post I went out and checked it and there it was all along.
Cheers! |
