And you can see whether you have put your foot on the correct pedal.

BTW. - If the blue footwell lights are ordered with the new car , how are they wired up ?.
Can't be when the key fob is pressed and the interior lights come on, as they would turn off, with the said lights.
When the side lights are turned on ??
If I am going to have a go myself, using non Honda strips, may as well get them to work in the same manner.
Very very simple instructions please, I'm an architect, not an electrician and I wouldnt know how to wire up a building.
Aint my job is it Guv', I just try to get em to stay vertical for a while.

The official ones come on with lights I think.

The best way to wire them in is to run them off the same circuit as the glove box light, as that only comes on when the lights are on.

There is a post on how to do it in the how to section -

Install Ambient Blue Lighting (Switched on by Main Lights)

Thanks Essexboy and to tamar for the how to and pics.
So did you use two led strips for each of the front footwells, or is the diagramatic wiring pic, showing four, for say two in rear seats as well.
Thought these led strips were self adhesive too. ??

I used one strip for each footwell, two in total coz I'm not putting them in the back.

They are self advesive, they stick there nicely in place.

Why do you want them on when youre driving?
If you must have them (IMO they're f***ing awful), surely they should be wired to the same circuit as the interior lights??

With every car that I have owned since getting married robbo, my wife has always had this thing about messing about to find things in her handbag, whilst we are driving.
I can be ploughing along at night and she will decide to turn the interior lights on.
Now she could just pull down the sun visor and use the vanity mirror light, but will she .

Horses for courses and all that... you do what you want with your car and I'll do the same with mine!!!!

Obviously I don't have them on very bright if I'm driving, that's why I put a dimmer in, and it isn't distracting at all....

So, installing an on / off rocker switch, where the blank is for the heated seats, could be part of me cunning plan then Essexboy.
Or would that turn off the glove box etc.?

It's even better if you install a variable resisitor.

I'll post a diagram to show how it's done.... not complicated at all!

How thick are these light strips? After having my eyes constantly drawn to the new audi range cruising around at night with their oh so sexual LED headlight strips I can't help but wonder what the Civic would look like with a similar feature...
