Fog fog light covers made & fitted

got round to making some covers, hopefully will save me some money from replacing a smashed one.

done some pics as i went along.

started with a paper template, (didnt want to remove it, as ive heard its not easy to get the bolt back)
then moved on to a mdf template then used that to cut the shape from the perspex i had in the garage.

i made 4 in total while i was in the mood, so i have a spare if i lose 1.

Where can you buy the material to do this?
I went to B&Q and they wanted £30 for a sheet.

Yep, looks good. So how did you fix the perspex to the glass ? Looks like double sided tape.....

the stuff i used to fix to the fog lamp is made by 3M. its a plastic velcro, so i can take them off for cleaning.

there is some clear stuff about by the same people, but is were hard to get hold of, 5 x 1cm squares works out about £3. i will get some ordered and done as you wont even know there are covers on there then.

if they do the job and save my fog lamps,(made fog lamp covers for my last 2 cars and never had a broken 1) then im happy.

just got them on now for the winter as they have now started gritting the roads, so more stones etc flying about off other cars.

Hi Gray 52 what did you use to cut them out with to get such a neat finish they look good i do a lot off motorway driving so have been thinking off doing a set myself after reading all the reports

i just used a jigsaw cutter with a fine blade.
dont try and cut it to quick or it will shatter.

Me too. You have a done a far better job than I could. Seriously, I reckon you would have a lot of interest if you market these, with discount for Civinfo members obviously

If there were some that improved the look of the blanking plates for cars without fogs, I'd say £15 + postage?

Seems a reasonable price to help protect those vunerable spots.

I too think £15 sounds real good, even for export! I don't know if I can get the 3M tape here but can worry about that, if you decide to go in to production. Cheers.
