I will hopefully be picking up my Type-S in a weeks time and have been reading the whole foglight saga with a terrified interest. I've never spent this much on a car before and panic about the idea that the new car will have blown foglights requiring a £200 fix! I have gone for a new car to precisely avoid this kind of 'suprise!'

Anyway, once I get the new car I may well be in the market for a set of these, so I may give you a shout. I live in Grantham but work in Peterborough (Thorpe Wood) so I could even collect

Dave

Gray52 - I know u made yr foglite covers last year, and this is a long-shot that u will get this and reply, if not then help from anybody appreciated - how are the covers fitted to the foglites? I have some polycarb sheets about 1mm thick but they are VERY strong, and planned to make some from that - but couldn't see decent way to fit without dirt getting in back and being impossible to clean?? HELP please . . . .

A BIG THANK YOU FOR GRAY52!!

I have orderd a fog cover set in early february and right after I got my car I have mounted them.
I have cleaned the car today, removing the covers to clean them also. On the left hnad one there was a massive damage some kind of a huge stone chips (two of this next to each other). Without the cover my fog would be def. broken now! So covers have already paid off and I hope they will save my fogs from further chips! Thx again for Gray52!!!!

(I will take some pics if I will have some time!)

Question

A question.

No doubt the fog light cover protect against chips.
There is no doubt about that.

Also, I am sure a number of the fog light breakages have been due to chips.

So, they are a good idea.

But, there has also been discussion of that other things may be the cause, eg heat, tension.

Have any fog lights with covers broken?

just one more additional info: I use my fogs a lot! (in rain, in dark with main beam, for DRL in Austria the law allows it... etc.)

so mine def. heats up / cools down... I have 10k km in the car

I've had mine on for a few months now and done a few mile too - no problems with mine.... lights and covers still very much intact.

Is this stil useful, now that Honda is doing the repairs under warranty and the fault is with overheating instead of stones?

Is this verified?
Officially?

I mean some damage is probably from stone chips (see the post about damage to the covers), but has Honda officially admited to an overheating issue?
