Has anyone had fog lights fitted at the dealer after collection and, if so, how much did you pay?

do the fogs come on (not as bright as fogs) when you have the headlights on? or do they only come on when you put the fog lights on via the indicator lever???? (if anyone understands what I mean- as I am hoping to install them myself)

No - there's specific positions on the stalk for 1)front, 2)rear or 3)front+rear! (if I understand you correctly.... )

As stated they come on when switched on via the stalk. Remember, they are brighter (more dazzling) than dipped beams and should not be used unless foggy.

Sure you would consider driving round in clear conditions with them on, but a good reminder as your question was if they came on with the headlights, no fog lights do this unless fitted to chavved up cars driven by inconsiderate types, of BMW 3series type cars (Their fogs always seem stuck on)

Has anyone priced up the fog lights yet (unit cost) was thinking of adding to mine as the black plastic inserts look cheap, did noticed that someone wanted to swap 1 light for 2 inserts.

I've had a quote from John Pease Honda, who are offering civinfo members a discount.

The fog lamp kit is £169.33 inc vat. Postage is approximately £10.00.

If I buy the from my dealer, the retail price for the fog lamp kit is £199.22 inc vat. and fitting another £150.00 on top.

I'm still debating what to do after what happened to richierich.

Cheers Jobo, I do think that the civic looks far better with, but after all the reports of breakages is this the way to go.

I wonder how much the fog lights alone are and if fitting without the full harness and switch would be a quick fix - never really drive with them on that much any way.

Had my broken one replaced today, no need to take the bumper off. The chap from AutoRestore checked the How To last night. Apparantly getting the light back in is harder than to get it out.

Just popped into the local Honda dealer at lunch, the guy on parts sold a kit to his mate who had just bought a Civic

Turns out his mate didn't like the Civic so sold it and now he has a kit going spare - £120 to buy.

Think I might just invest!!

Front Fog Lamps

I just had two re-fitted due to both cracking right across, cost to me was £327.00 fitted, Lamps cost £145.91 EACH!!!
Honda want all broken Front Fogs back so looks like an issue. Don't fit them, no warantee on self fitted items.

Thanks for the update. I've been toying with the idea of getting front fogs for the last couple of months but have now decided against it. It will be interesting to see if Honda reimburse you for the cost after their investigation.

Jobo I will be suprised if we get anything back from them, if the Fog lamps were on the car and "stressed" when tightened up, that could be seen maybe but just looking at lamps !!!!!

how can they charge that? the fog light kit is only £199, so if you need both you can save £90 and get a spare stalk and loom for free!!!!!
