Just had one replaced on mine. Lamp was £124.18 + VAT. Surprisingly, labour was only £17.85. I guess since mine was smashed I don't have much of a case to get my money back

Don't talk to me about dealers. Wish I'd headed up the A1 and went back to Springfield Honda.

Wink

I have just got back from Holdens and given them HELL about over charging me for these Fog Lamps, eventually I got an apology from the sevice director after listening to another load of B**ocks from the after sales manager, and a refund cheque is coming in the post.
If I had not gone back and complained very loadly in the front reception I would not have herd another word from them, BE WARNED.

audijohn, I was going to say good for you but it's not the point, really. They shouldn't have been ripping you off in the first place.

My dealer tried to charge me for a minor part that was missing from the car boot (no, not the spare!) this morning. Told me I should have gone through sales, then service not parts so I would have to pay for a part that should have been there but wasn't. It was sorted out when I went outside to tell my husband and he came back in with me and asked to speak to the manager. Why does everything have to be such hard work?

My husband spotted your post about the fog lights on the Audi forum and told me about it. Have you had more trouble with the Honda dealer than with Audi? It would interesting to know.

Jobo I must say hand on heart I have NO problems with Audi Norwich, they are doing a job on my new Audi A8 4.2TDI Sport this morning, wiring a road angel2 aireal lead, and I know it will be done right.
My wife had a chiose of an A3 Sport or the Civic 2.2cdti, she chose the honda which to be far is a good little car.
The dealership which supplied it has turned out to be somewhat suspect, I spoke to some other customers in the showroom of this honda dealership and they to have issues
I supose it can happen to anyone on the odd occasion, but now days it seems very hard to find ANYONE who actualy gives a dam about there job and/or after sales service.
I have had many AUDI's and not all were new, the service has been fabulous.
I have had two neqw lexus cars and found them "wanting"!!!!!

The trouble with this dealership is they think people are stupid, they sell to many different makes of cars, I looked at a 4*4 Jeep grand they sell, it was new and had a diesel merc ( made under licence engine & box) in it.
They insisted it could do 28MPG on a run.
I said let me take the demo for a day or so and if I like it I'll have one.
No they say, we will give you an hour test drive, bear in mind this is a 32K car we are talking about here, what can you asertain in an hour?.
Put off straight away .
I said right lets take it out, I did 50 Miles mixed cruising and got 19MPG, and it was terrible and tanklike in all respects.
Needless to say I regected it, and advised them if they want to sell cars they need to give people a day or two with it to make judgement, there responce was no!!
I buy Audi's and have done for some years, I get to take it for as long as I want whatever model I fancy buying from Audi Norwich, I always can cut a deal with them.
I rather hoped the wife would chose the A3 DTI Sport instead of the Honda, however she did not and after much "haggling" with a coulpe of suppliers we struck a deal with Holdens.
The car will not return there for service I assure you.

Hello all
My first post here sorry but I must reply to audijohns comments about my place of work.

Stealers, ripoff merchants and "somewhat suspect"

Honda Uk dictate these prices referred to and yes it is a crazy price difference between seperate lamps and the kit but that is not the dealer at fault is it ,and certainly not the dealer profiteering as I am fully aware of the margins involved. Your lamps were ordered at different times seperately.
Accusing decent people of being rip off merchants at there place of work and then carrying it on in a public forum!!!
Honda dealers follow procedures dictated to them by Honda, if you must dish someone let it be the manufacture not the dealer, but I feel you may have no argument.
OH..... Holden Honda sell Hondas not Jeep ( with honesty and integraty I might add )

From someone who does give a damn

Nice,

Whilst we feel for your position as a person, I'm afraid that our contract is with the dealer. Any pricing structures, deals, discounts or whatever with any of your business suppliers are not our concern. We have no contract with Honda, whatsoever.

If your client feels that he has been ripped off, then it's fine for him to air that view. He has also had the decency to add that after a complaint, the dealer has offered recompense.

The reader is now empowered (I hate that word, but couldn't think of a better one), the truth has been told, and we are all wiser.

I would advise that in a well connected world, it's probably not best to charge a lot of money for something that others have purchased somewhat cheaper. Especially when there are now dozens of cases of these foglights mysteriously breaking of their own accord.

But thanks for coming on here to share the fact that as an employee, you do indeed care.

NICE thats good word for your "branch" if you work there, and Holdens DO sell JEEP and the showrooms aree NEXTDOOR to one another,
I am not the only dare I say customer that have issues with this particular dealership.
A mistake YES but one not to be repeated, AND I stick by EVERY word I have said.

"NICE"
I have also forgotten to add in defence if required of "HONDA UK".
That it was honda who pointed out that the price was £199.00 inclusive.
Therefore I returned to the dealership to confront them.
I would like to know (as you do NOT work at this branch) where you got the idea that I had ordered two seperate lamps?
This is not true.
I suggest you get your facts right before coming on here defending a branch of the company you work for that you know nothing about.
After speeking to honda uk i phoned around three main honda agents for a price on this work. ALL these dealerships ( names sand contacts can be supplied) quoted the CORRECT price ofd £199.00
I rest my pen!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mr. 'Nice'.
All I can say, person who talk as representative for a dealer and works there shouldn't ever post in such tone.
Even if you were right, using this tone makes it look wrong, and this is bad reputation.
I myself would be repelled by that to come to such dealer with that attitude.

No no no no, I'm just glad they're posting anything. (Most) dealers are just people and obviously whatever they post here doesn't represent any official stand.

Let them argue their case, make their point. I prefer to hear both sides to the story, even if in this case it isn't the same dealer.

Let's all remember that on other Honda related forums or weblogs there is no evidence of involvement from Honda's part. So why not give Nice a break. Perhaps he got the facts wrong but let's not get too worked up about it. Please

Recycle?

Why was I quoted nearly 300 sheets for the fog lamp replacing?

Maybe I forget and it was £200, oh well, its been replaced by the insurance company as I assumed at the time it was damaged not faulty.

I would agree with CopyCat, we should be happy that we have an employee involved in the sale of this product amongst us, I hope we can put the foglight issue behind us and move forward with constuctive dialogue involving Nice and any other colleagues who wish to join.

Rich I agree and the "foglamp issue" is now history, I respect "NICE" for his defence of his company and lets get on with the process of enjoying life. Best regards AJ

Hi again

I really did not want to enter into this forum in the way that I did but as I said I felt a little compelled to.
Audijohn, I do work at Holden Honda but I do not represent them on here. I came on here out of interest for my job and to try to help pass on info, tips and get a feel for what people are doing with there civics. I do not hide the fact I work for a dealer because hopefully I will be able to pass on the wealth of knowledge that builds up in these establishments. I guess I'm trying to build bridges.
What happened here is that one lamp was ordered for you at a cost of 124.18 plus vat and then 10 days later the other lamp was ordered at the same cost.
You are correct that the price of an accessory fog lamp kit is 199.22 inc vat. this is not what was ordered for you.
If you ask us for the price of a foglight kit you will get the same answer as honda uk gave you. This is not what was originally requested,
The issue still reains in that if another lamp breaks you will be faced with another bill for 124.11 plus vat from a dealer, unless you want to buy the kit for a spare for the other side.
Holden chrysler jeep are located about half a mile away from holden honda.
I 'm sorry if this offends and I hope that you have many trouble free motoring miles in your civc.
I hope to continue posting on here but I suppose that depends if you now eat me alive.
