You're right though....it doesn't manage to light up much of anything really. It's pretty week. The hole in the light fitting thats supposed to let the light throughisn't very wide though and maybe it could be adjusted in some way.... |

Re: blue led at the front
You must have gone for the ambient lighting kit. The blue light is in the footwells and there's another little LED in the overhead light in the front that is indeed supposed to light up the gear stick. It should only come on when the headlights are on (I thought mine hadn't been fitted til somebody on this forum told me that
[/quote] I think it was me who told you this; but...I do NOT have the ambient lighting kit; and I don't have the blue lights in the footwell, I do have that LED though. Can someone confirm if everyone has that or something slightly odd has happened with mine? |

Ahhh! Interesting. It's another nice little touch to give away as standard on all the Civics. The entry level model must be one of the best speced in it's class with six gears and VSC as standard...and now a little blue LED too!!!

just a thought......
<<Quote>> There's loads of signals that doggers use, the most common are flashing lights, these could be interior or exterior lights, colours will depict what they are into. This basically means they're [probably] doggers. Leaving the internal light on basically means 'we want to be watched'. If they [choose to] wind down the window, this may mean they want to fondle/be fondled or more.<<unquote>>
So be careful if waiting for the wife/gf in teco's cp and its dark and you've got the window down, whilst looking at your lovely blue interior light, lol! |

Rear vew of the footwell light Footwell light connection to the underdash fuse box (Light blue connector at the upper left hand) Whats this unit attached to the back of the underdash panel. Could it be the rear view camera control unit? ![]() |

Does the blue connector just connect directly to the LED?
It's tough to work out what's ACTUALLY included in the kit - the plastic adapter looks pretty standard to me. If you can shed any light on this, I'd appreciate it Geddit? |

I will remove the under dash panel and try to get part numbers etc this weekend. There is another connector that plugs into a socket near the center console. I would think that given the correct parts it should be a doddle to fir it your self.

I can't quite see how they can justify the ludicrous cost of this upgrade. I reckon you could cobble something together. |

wooly I am not sure if others are having probs too but what are your pictures showing? The first one says it is the back of the kit- does this mean the Honda light is not just a strip of LED's?

The first pic shows the back of the underdash panel which houses the LED light. I presume this is present on all cars whether youhave the kit or not.
It LOOKS like the LED plugs into that blue socket, and then connects through to the other side. Would love an hour or so pulling a fully loaded car to bits |

Hope you don't live near me
As I said I will try and get some more photos and and a better description onto the site this weekend. The 'other' conector i should think is going to the interior lights control unit as the footwell lights dim at the same rate as the interior lights. The wiring loom has 5 legs. Leg 1 - Earth connection near the drivers door pillar. Leg 2 - Fuse box blue connector. leg 3 - Green (I think) conector to interior lights? leg 4 - Drivers side LED leg 5 - Passenger side LED. Anyway thats as much as I can say untill I can pull it apart again (While the wife is not watching - 'What are you doing now!' is a typical comment) |
