Xenon HID - parking light bulbs don't match

Hi,

Has anybody found any parking light bulbs which more closely match the colour temperature of the HID Xenon bulbs in the Sport/EX model? It seems that the default blubs look really yellow compared to the HID bulbs.

Nick...

Hi,

i tested some different bulbs / LED's. You can see the results at my homepage: http://www.leja.de/Auto/Civic/Standlicht/index.htm
Sorry, it's in German only.
The best result is to use LED's, but LED's are not legal in different countrys.

A very good bulb comes from Osram, if you can find a dealer. In Germany you can get them from Conrad, they supply through the internet.

Hi Michael, impressive tests you made there!
I tested the philips 3400 ones and they are not better then standard ones.
Where did you get these great looking 6chip types?
Now I use self made LED types but they are not white enough.

These really are as bright as they show.

I took this picture last night of mine. Dipped beam with sidelights (fluted reflector)

I've had no luck at all trying to get sidelights to match the Xenons!
I tried the 501 Extreme Power and they turned out to be more purple than white.
I'm just after trying the 501 LED Super Bright White 1W and they also are purple in comparison to the Xenon. Could it be possible I have a faulty batch or have other people had this problem? Although customer sevice at autoulbs direct leaves alot to be desired for, they don't seem to reply to emails

I had super Led'S with Xenons on my last car and they matched very well.
Send them back and ask for a new set

Super Bright LED's

Hi
Got mine from Halfords, they are Prism Super Bright LED'S and look really good on their own (like a pair of sharp bright eye's) and look great with the HID's.
You do have a choice of blue of white,I went for the white ones as there a better match for the lights, they were good enough to let me try both in their carpark!

Yes, plug and play assuming they are the right way round.

Plug and wonder why they don't work if their polarity is wrong.

I did mine and got 50% plug and play, 50% nothing until I realised and reversed the one that wasn't working.

Just take out the old ones and replace with the LED, BUT; they are 'way sensitive' so if they don't work at first then take them out and turn them 180deg and re-insert.

@Damir If you bought them in our country they wouldn't match because nobody sells real white LED's....belive me I know....I bought whole box and neither one was white as in pictures; they all were more blue then white....

I solved my problems and order PIAA ones and bulbs to since I'm not planing to install aftermarket xenons...

This is where I purchased mine:

501 LED Super Bright White 1W (pair) :: LED sidelight and side repeater bulbs :: LED Exterior Bulbs :: Autobulbs Direct Ltd - Xenon bulbs, car bulbs, wiper blades, headlight, Osram, Ring, Philips

PS: Cheaper ones do tend to have a more 'blueish' look to them.

...see my picture above #5. You won't get a better match, in my opinion.

Ps: Shipping is free to Europe by the looks of it Free Shipping :: Autobulbs Direct Ltd - Xenon bulbs, car bulbs, wiper blades, headlight, Osram, Ring, Philips . Unless it is under £10 or over £100 .
