Overhead Interior Lights (courtesy ones)

Changed mine to blue bulbs today as mentioned in a few threads. They look the bees knees - well worth the £15 I spent on them!

Makes a mockery of the £200 Honda want to light up the footwells.

First off, apologies for the quality. I have sharper images but it doesn't give the blue lighting justice. So heres a blurred version but the blue glow on here is what it looks like in reality.

Looks good, adds a mysterious element to things. I like it, and as you say its on £15...can't be bad to that!

smb09 - your night time photos - take a torch with you and follow these steps: (this is if you have a compact digital with no AF illuminator)

1 turn on your camera, make sure the LCD is used not the viewfinder. turn off the flash
2 shine the torch on what you want to photo
3 compose the picture
4 half press the shutter button (two stage shutter release on most cameras), make sure the auto-focus is locked onto a target
5 turn off the torch
6 fully press the shutter button. Be careful not to move, as camera shake will be a problem.
7 Your image will probably be very dark, you might want to correct it using a photo enhancing program.

There also might be some settings in the manual setup, which allows you to change the sensitivity of the camera.

At least with a digital you can have lots of attempts without it costing anything!

Cheers LoonyJohn - always wanted to know some tricks of the trade. My camera does have an aF illuminator but it looks as though Ic an easily get intot he menu and switch it off. I tried loads of settings last night and didn't get any joy with them.

Use a tripod! That way you can reduce the aperture and get a deeper depth of field. The exposure time may be a minute or two, but who cares?

This one was exposed for a few minutes, IIRC.

I'll try a tripod one of the blue courtesy lights over the weekend and see how I get on. Watch this space.

Those lights must be a pain in the bum at night if you need to read something, think I prefer the normal ones myself.

Topcat:
I've done the blue light front and back.
If a better light is needed I use the ones on the back of the visor. They are not quite as bright as the original white map lights, but good enough for most things.

Terry, I'm with you. We all bought our cars partly due to form over function, ie we fell in love with the concept of the Civic. If I wanted to be sensible I'd have bought a Mundano. Topcat, trust me you'll appreciate the interior glow more frequently than you'll ever miss reading lights. By the way if pushed, the vanity lights would be ok, just checked on way back from shops.
