They are so easy to fit and look really good too - I would recommend everyone to get a set of these very practical covers.

Ditto!

Yes a few people have claimed it as a warranty repair. I think it comes down to how good your dealer is.

Have you asked them about a warranty claim, show them this thread on here

Haven't asked about warranty claim yet, will do on sat when I go to pick up new fog lamp.

I'll definately take along a copy of this thread, hopefully that should get the message across that it is due to part failure as opposed to stone chips!

Philis, Only last week I contacted Honda UK with the same problem and was dismissed pretty swiftish!!
They said that they are not replacing any under warranty and that it was almost definately caused by road debris!!

Thanks ghowarth, I suspected that would be the answer i'd get if I tried calling Honda UK.

Some of the people on here it seems have managed to get their fog lamps replaced free of charge, but as Dimplyred says this may be down to how good your dealership is.

Still gonna try my luck though...

Today, my 1.8 ES needed a good wash after two weeks of being a work-horse.
I started at the front of the car and behold - found my passenger side fog light smashed to bits!

It must have happened on my way up the M1 on Friday night coz I checked the car that morning before seeing a client.

Well gutted!

Number broken: 1
Age of car: 06 Reg
Mileage: approx 22,100 miles
When driving, or "it just appeared": "it just appeared" but must have been while driving.
Cost of replacement: Not yey known until I get it to a dealer
Broken on which side? = Passenger Side

I mentioned the large number of samshed foglights to the dealer yesterday when i was in getting a service.

The reply was "Yes, its where the are located, they get a right battering"

Perhaps Honda should locate the front foglights on the rear bumper like all the other manufacturers.

What seems weird is that everyone seems unaware of when the damage occured

The response that I recived was that most other manufacturers now mount their fog lamps behind a plastic cover. This protects the vulnerable glass lense that is made more susceptible to damage when heating up and cooling down during use.

Yes the whole units needs to be replaced.

A user a few posts down has been quoted £90.

Question

can't understand why the fogs are cracking when reading this thread. Are they cracking because of stones or the intense heat from the bulbs ??

Currently 4700 miles on mine and fingers crossed no cracks yet.
I have never had my fogs on for more than a couple of minuites, just a test.
Fog has never been thick enough to use them.

It's illegel to drive with them on when it's not foggy. Can't stand people who drive with them on in the day, What's the point ?
