Thumbs up Philips X-Treme Power +80%

Hello,

I recently purchased some of the new bulbs by Philips, mentioned above (+80% jobbies).

I can fully recommend these over the standard fit from Honda and any other +xx% bulb i have tried to date.

They were purchased from www.powerbulbs.com with a free set of blue side lights (w5w's). Delivery was free and the bulbs arrived 48 hours after ordering.

With regards to Philips bulbs, I had a pair of Philips Vision Plus +50% in my previous Honda (Accord) – the near side blew after 9 months/7k – I then contacted Philips customer care in Holland who asked me to send the pair of bulbs purchased to them in order to bench test. Two weeks later, a new pair arrived FOC with an explanatory note.

The bulbs had failed well short of their expected life span of 2yrs/20000kms (apologies for the change in metric/imperial units), Philips showing excellent customer care by replacing them with only a little bit of hassle (the bulbs had to be sent to Holland…!).

All in all, something worth considering for non HID Civic’s.

I also have the X-treme power bulbs fitted to the dipped, and Vision Plus fitted to the main beam and concur with HondaRob.
A worthy investment for any non HID Civic.

I used http://www.autolamps-online.com/
Friendly staff and quick delivery.

Are these Philips extreme lamps a straight swap or do you need to modify the wiring etc?

I seem to remember when I looked into replacing some bulbs a few years ago that some of them were of a higher wattage rating and couldn't be used without upgrading the wiring or using a relay to supply power straight from the battery

the +80% Philips has same Watt as standard bulbs!!

never use higher Watt bulbs! they damage the wiring the socket and are not road legal!

Hi all - I'm about to own a 2.2ES. I just sold my Mk5 Golf GTTDI that I upgraded the lights in (Philips GT150's) and needed four H4's. What bulbs do the Civic's take? I mean for dipped and main beam - are they different?

Cheers

Are these the H1 bulbs that will work with the Civic (main beam)?

H1 Philips Blue Vision bulbs (pair) :: H1 Bulbs :: Upgrade Xenon Headlight Bulbs :: Autobulbs Direct Ltd - Xenon bulbs, car bulbs, wiper blades, headlight, Osram, Ring, Philips

Don't forget this site is offerning civinfo members a 10% discount - code at checkout is civinfo10 (not sure how long it is valid for). Their price is £19.45 per pair which works out at a handy £17.51 with discount!

Philips don't do the H1 in the X-treme range, best get the Vision Plus bulbs

I've ordered some Philips Xtreme H7

Hi I am new here, I've just ordered (Wednesday morn) some H7 80% Philips one's based on the post by tomtank62 from A1CarBulbs Philips Xenon Headlight Bulbs Philips Vision Plus, Philips Blue Vision, Philips Premium, Philips X-treme 80%, Philips XTreme, Xenon H7 H4 H1

Thought I would join the forum rather than just being a lurker and watching I googled for ages but could not find them cheaper than 25.99 delivered

I'll let you lot know if they come quickly etc, I got an email within a couple of hours thanking me for the order but as they say proof of the pudding is in the eating.

p.s. maybe this should be a separate question but does the 80% bulbs take extra current or the same as the standard bulb?

bye for now

I think that the bulb draws a similar current to the standard bulbs, so your wiring isn't at risk
