Rear fog lights

Have just checked the rear fog lights on my 2.2 EX and only one appears to be working. Before I go to the dealer for them to sort it, can someone please confirm that there are supposed to be TWO rear foglights.

Thanks

In some countries it is not legal to have two rear fog lights.

in the UK, only one rear fog light, so all is as it should be

Unless you have a CTR, in which case the fog lights are moved, and I think you then get 2

Depends what country you're in - If you're in the UK, then you will only have one fog light (on the right hand side)

Only one rear fog light fitted, in UK at least. It's already mentioned in a thread somewhere on the forum.........in the lights section I would imagine

I'm in the UK. I'm certain that my clio and corsa before this had 2 working rear fog lights. It just looks very odd to have only one light working.

although only in the fog, and even then, only if you get out and have a look

you're right though, would be more symetrical to have 2

Yes I've just got to the lights section in the manual, about 400 pages in (are all manuals this long?!) and it's as you say, only one rear fog light.

Has anyone looked closely at this, I had a car once with only 1 rear fog light? Investigations showed that all the wiring was in place for a second one, all I had to do was put a bulb in. I will maybe take a look later.

I think it is better to only have a single light, from a distance in fog it does not look like a brake light.

I have investigated and there is only space for one bulb. Bit sill really as it looks nicer with two.

My wife's old Clio had one bulb, but the wiring and holder for two (was duly upgraded), my PoS of a VW had the space for two and the holder, but the wiring (all of two wires) were not carried over form the main loom - pathetic.

Hoping someone can get the honda to have two sometime in the future...?

Richierich is right, in the UK it's to prevent it being mistaken for brake lights.

Have a look here. Stef has added the extra bulb to create additional rear lights

This has been covered in the past see Rear Fog Lights

If i remember correctly, you ca have two rear fogs in th UK if the position is correct. My last car (Rover 75) had 2 rear fogs.

My old Hyundai Coupe had 2 rear fogs and 2 reversing lights. My Civic and my old man's Accord only have one of each.

Remember the same parts are essentially used for LHD & RHD cars, cheaper that way. So the Civic has two rear foglights but only one activates. If you were taking the car abroad you would just need to switch the wiring over.

It's not rocket science.
