Spare bulbs for travelling in Europe

I need to have a spare bulb kit for travelling in europe. Given the high cost of HID bulbs, is there still a reasonable value spare bulb kit that would suit my car (2.2ctdi EX)

go to honda and buy pack all in one (here nobody has spare blub for xenon... halogen only)....i asked in honda how so?....it just for police and in law there isn't any word about spare for xenon....

my advice is to buy honda set (with extra blubs usually H1in pack + few fuses + indicator and position blub....first aid and tringle.....and refelcting waistcoat)....you shuld also check your TRK or spare tyre and a car jack.....

i have bought honda pack and have H1 blub (H7 is usualy on...H1 never)....and got T10 indicator?!...honda has WY21W not T10

when are you comeing to slovenia?

OK thanks. I'll probably take my chances with an H7 generic spare bulb kit.

I gather that only the dealer can change HID bulbs? Is this true?

I'm heading to Slovenia at the end of July.

I would get all of the bulbs that I could. The HID lamp bulbs should be changeable with some simple tools. At least if you have the bulb, you could blag your way without changing it at the roadside. HID lamps do have a reputation for longevity of service, so you should get away with it, if you don't carry a spare.

I really really wouldn't go trying to change a (real) HID bulb unless you know exactly what you are doing - there are some seriously high voltages involved to 'kick start' them, and if you touch the wrong bit, it could be painful

I've ask my dealer a spare bulb pack too when my car has been delivered (it is mandatory in France, so if you have a faulty bulb you can ask to the police officer to change it for you, it's a public service !) but as HID bulbs can only be chance by a qualified mechanic, he just give me a standard pare bulb box... just to be in order with the law and telling me that in any case I should change it by myself but that I should call Honda assistance if I have trouble with my light ! It sound good to me

Yowzer! I did that once whilst fixing a Nikon camera flash (You know, the nice big, old style with swivel and bounce!). It would appear that the capacitor discharge was on the edge of one side of the board and the earth was exactly opposite and also on the edge. Guess which edges I picked it up by?
To cut a long story short, The spasm caused me some muscle strain that lasted a week and I had nice little blisters on my thumb and fore finger as a reminder. However, I did fix the flash and it still works perfectly.
I don't think that I want to re-live that experience ever again!
