Confused with the headlight bulbs for CTR

Right flame suit on for posting a much discussed subject.

Im interested in getting replacement bulbs/led's.

Id like white light that is brighter etc.

Ive read the threads and it seems the choice is to go with the Philips H7 for the dipped beam - which is all I want to do at present as im not good with these sort of things i want to start easy.

But then I read that the lights still look yellowish even on the H7's.
And that they dont illuminate the road any better just at different spectrum.

So what are the best ideas to far.

To recap:
Dipped beam only replacement at moment.
Nice white light - bright.

Thanks

Mo

Philips do different sorts of H7 bulbs, the main ones being the X-treme, Blue Vision and Vision Plus.

The Blue Vision bulbs give you that crisp white light, and give about 30% more light output than a standard bulb.
The X-treme and Vision Plus bulbs give 80% and 50% respectively extra light output compared to standard bulbs. They do look slightly whiter, but they are mainly for increasing light output.
Whiter light doesn't automatically mean better vision, it's the light output of the bulb that's important, not the colour temperature.
I have the X-treme and they do make night driving a lot easier, coupled with the Vision Plus bulbs in the main beam

A good place to buy them is here

The H7 bulb for the dipped beam is the one with the left arrow pointing at it. The other bulb that comes on is the side light (this should be a small bulb)

So ive stopped cause i didnt think id be able to get out the lights specially on the battery side as its so tight.

How do you manage it ! for those that have

On the Type S petrol model you have to unclip an air pipe to get to the passenger side bulb, very easy to do. The drivers side was reasonably easy to get to without dismantling anything.
I expect the Type R is different, but it was all explained clearly in the manual on how to replace the bulb.
